2 New Pee Wee Herman Movies

Every now and again I hear some news that has one side of my brain saying "Oh this is so stupid" and the other side of my brain saying "Yaaayyy!!". News that Pee Wee Herman may have 2 new movies in development falls into this category.

As a quick aside, I've got to mention that I thought Paul Rubens has been pretty darn entertaining in just about every non-Pee Wee project I've seen him in (especially Mystery Men), and in general I'd welcome seeing him back on the big screen again.

Back to the Pee Wee side of things, the good folks over at dTheatre give us this:

One of the scripts is "basically 'Pee Wee's Playhouse' the movie," Reubens said. "It's sort of an epic 'Wizard of Oz' adventure film." The film would star all of the characters from the televsion show, which won 22 Emmys, ran for five years, and launched his career. The script that Reubens believes will be made into a film first, however, is somewhat darker than the children's show. "It's kind of the 'Valley of the Dolls' 'Pee Wee' movie," he said.
A "darker" Pee Wee? Hmmm... ok I'm interested... no wait I think this is stupid... no... now I think it's great... ummmm.... let me get back to you on this one.

Playhouse meets Valley of The Dolls? Hmmm... Never thought I would sit through a Pee Wee movie, but I just might be interested in this darker storyline enough to see it on pirated sat should it ever get made and distributed. ;-)

this is AWESOME

Pee Wee's big adventure is still one of my all time favorites. Paul Rubens is a great entertainer and I cannot wait to see this.

So Pee Wee's a perve! So am I, and you & your mom. Bring the freak back to entertain as he knows best, acting freaky (I don't even mean in a bad way, he was fun!)

Pee-Wees not a perve, he jerked off in a movie theatre and got busted. It was in a XXX theatre too, so what did he do so diffrent in that theatre amoungst everyone else who has every masturbated? He was seen as innocent and loving, not creepy like the rest of society. I would love to see more Pee-Wee Herman movies, Tim Burton should make them like he did the originals.
