Johnny Depp Looking Slick as Willy Wonka

WillyWonkaBoy.jpgNot a fan of Tim Burton at all, however, you can count me among those eager to see how this re-make of Willy Wonka turns out. Johnny Depp is a terrific actor and I'm guessing will steal the show. I dig the look. Even from a still shot it looks like he's captured the spirit of the character.

seems like a great remake of a classic movie. Johnny Depp does look too young to be Wonka compared to Gene Wilder. Still lets see how the acting turns out!

I managed to get some games off Wonka.com. The games are at www.freegamezone.org

As someone old enough to remember seeing the original in the theater, let me be the first to voice a dissenting opinion. While I think that if it must be remade, Burton is a great choice. However, I just don't fancy the idea of a remake, period. Why oh why didn't Burton go after the darker (and more Burton-like) Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator?

Will this new version include the songs from the first film?

I read somewhere (sorry not sure where) that Burton claims to be making a movie from his interpretation of the book, not a remake of the movie starring Gene Wilder.
The 'original' with Wilder was titled 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'. Dahl's book is titled 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', as is Burton's film.
I also fail to see how Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is any less 'dark' than Charlie and the Great Glass elevator. Must be the knids?

I think people who don't like remakes are boreing theres no reason why this should not be as good as the original. Personally I think Mr Depp can do a fine job.

Johnny Depp as Julia Ormond. He looks just like her in this. It's creepy.
