Frank Darabont to Head Remake of "The Thing"
The Sci-Fi channel has landed a good one. Apparently Sci-Fi is developing a 4 hour remake of The Thing. And who did they get to head the project? Frank Darabont. Frank directed some amazing films like The Green Mile and one of the best films ever made The Shawshank Redemption. He also acted as a Producer on Collateral and is currently working on a film version of Fahrenheit 451. Expect The Thing to air on the Sci Fi Channel sometime in late 2005 or early 2006.

What is the point of making a 4hr mini-series of "Who Goes There?"
Surely, John Carpenter's The Thing is the definitive version of this story?
Ideas must be running out, although I was never sure of The Dead Zone being a TV series and then enjoyed it when it was shown. So I suppose I should be keeping an open mind...
