Godzilla: Final Wars Footage Online!

godzilla.jpgWhee! Monster Zero has posted links to some footage from the Ryuhei Kitamura directed Godzilla: Final Wars! They're careful to point out that this is not an official trailer, but rather footage compiled for a TV spot and that the post-production is nowhere near complete but it looks pretty good to me. Kitamura still owes me several hours of my life back thanks to his last few movies but this looks like it should be good, brainless, destructive fun. Of the mirrors linking to the video file this is the only one that was working when I tried.

It's also being widely reported that the final battle of Final Wars will occur in Sydney, Australia between the old-school man-in-suit Godzilla and the purely CGI Godzilla from the American remake. Nice.

Hmm ... can't get the link to Monster Zero to work ... the site is www.monsterzero.us ... no matter how I format the link it always adds a slash onto the end of it which, for some reason, stops the link from working ...

I give you godzilla fans some (SONY) insights

Sony is in the planning stage to bring the godzilla of TOHO to America. They are looking for scripts and are asking Fans to give them some ideas for a new movie. They are looking to hire jon De Bont or James Camreon. Steven Spieldberg was not approach. They are in talks to also bring Gamera and Rodan.

Posted by: jcmacho at December 9, 2004 07:17 PM

The monsters looked as absurd as they did in the earlier films. This is a film for 12 year olds.

Someone tell me when this movie is coming out. I have a set of ten year old twins that are dying to see it. They have every Godzilla action figure and they know every story line and movie. I have been trying to find the movie in theaters here in Las Vegas, but cannot find it. Does anyone know any information.

Godzilla will never end. too many people around the world loves him. I believe this to be a ploy to recapture the funds. Atleast I hope so. That way I will see a new Godzilla film every year. Remember Godzilla vs the destoroyah was supposed to be the last.

Posted by: James at December 22, 2004 05:29 PM

This movie kicks ass, I flew out to japan for opening night. The plot gets a lil crazy, but it's always good to see Godzilla kikass. If this is truly the last Godzilla, at least it's worthy. Although I think Destroyah was by far the best Godzilla film.
Happy Holidays to all.

I live in New York and just wondering how and when GFW will be availabe to be viewed.

Posted by: Marlon at January 7, 2005 05:07 PM

Well on what I understand Godzilla Final Wars was made in the same style of an old Showa godzilla movie from the 1970s.Director Kitamura may be a fan of 70s Godzilla movies but for a Godzilla movie to catch the publics eye you cant make a 70s type Godzilla movie and expect it to make a profit. It wont. I am also puzzled why old Showa Kaijus like Eibra and Hedora Kamakiras Minya KingSeesar and a few other old Kaijus from the 60s & 70s are even in GFW. The direction of Godzilla movies from 1999 to 2003 was going in a good direction. Why change? If you see a Showa movie and compare it to a Heisei movie the Heisei movie is far far better and so are the Millennium movies. Like I said before a director who makes a Godzilla movie like an old 70s Godzilla movie is asking to be fired a movie made like that today will lose money not make money. I think Kitamura is a modern Jun Fukuda and Jun made lousy Godzilla movies in his day.

Posted by: David Nunez at January 9, 2005 11:51 PM

I think in this movie Godzilla will teach the American Godzilla that you can't copy the original. I also want to say that the new improvements to the coustoms are great!! I was a godzilla fan since i was born and will still be one. GODZILLA RULES and American Godzilla will die!!!

Posted by: Luis at January 11, 2005 08:45 PM

why couldnt the guy who made the movie actually bring back some of the dead kaiju like space godzilla, destroya and also Gamera even though gamera isnt a godzilla friend or foe or even dead, but still i mean come on that would be so fucking awsome dont u guys agree? instead of all those other shity monsters like ebira and kamakerus those guys sucked!!! that would make a good movie dont u guys agree?

Posted by: G-man at January 17, 2005 04:55 PM

if they make a godzilla vs gamera film it would a lot of money in japan but in the u.s i dont think so.

I remember seeing Godzilla for the first time in 1956. I was either 6 or 7 at the time. for the most part i like the movies. I love seeing the destruction of the cities. I think since 1985 They've done a pretty good job. I Think Son of Godzilla, and Godzilla VS The Sea Monster are the badest of the bad.I am really disapointed that the originel Jajaneese version did not come to Denver I've heard and read that it is better than the americanised version with raymond burr.Which i do own.If anyone out there should know where and when it may come to video. Please let me know.Enen though i am not a great fan of the american version. I still would love to see an american version of King Kong VS Godzilla. Thanks for the space so i could give my opinion. Can't wait to see the last one.

It takes time to dub a movie over to english. Movie awready released in Japan. Maybe by April USA will see new Godzilla movie, maybe June 05 for the summer boxoffice

Posted by: CheeseDog at March 1, 2005 09:47 AM

I very much doubt if Godzilla Final Wars will be released here in the USA Theatricly across the country. I know that Godzilla Final Wars will probley just be released here in the USA on DVD. I think the best chance any Godzilla fan has of viewing Godzilla Final Wars in a Theatre is if it is booked at the Pickwick Theatre in Chicago during G-Fest in July of 2005.I have been a fan of Godzilla for 39 years and I have a complete collection of all 28 Godzilla Theatrical movie posters Iam baffled by those who think that Tristars 1998 movie was a movie about Godzilla seen that the monster in the Tristar movie was not even a mutated Dinosaur but infact was only a mutated Igunana that was later dubbed in the movie as Igunanasarus. The Japanese fishing man in the 1998 movie had mistaked the monster as being Gojira. I am glad Toho cleard up the diffrence in 2 movies in GMK where again they mentioned the 1998 monster was just another giant monster and not Godzilla and again in Godzilla Final Wars where the Tristar monster and Godzilla battle in Sydney Australia Godzilla kills the Tristar 98 monster in a minute. Tristar was however smart enough to lease the name Godzilla to title their movie. Tristar did not buy the rights of Godzilla Toho is not that stupid. So far of all the Godzilla movies made from 1999 Godzilla2000 to 2004 Godzilla Final Wars I think the 2001 movie Godzilla Mothra KingGhidora is by far the best of the Shinsei series. It is a shame that when the Scifi channel showed GMK they deleted a few scenes from the movie and changed a few words in the movie when they dubbed it in english what a hack job. The original uncut movie GMK RULES!!

Posted by: David Nunez at March 7, 2005 12:16 PM

Yes, yes!
Know what? I met few Japanese people who have already watched the final war movie, they told me, it was so awesome and can't hardly explain how awesome the movie was. They made me freak my emotion because I want to see it soooooooooooooo fucking bad.

Posted by: GODZILLA POWER at March 8, 2005 05:09 PM

they ruin it EVERYTIME!!!!!!

Posted by: DukeAbercrombie at March 13, 2005 07:03 PM

As stated above, Godzilla Final Wars should be out on DVD and VHS April 2005 in the US. It takes time to dub or sub-title the movie and then to make the DVD's and Tapes. The movie will have roughly 12 monsters in it with 6 more shown from clips from previous movies. The green gargantua from "War Of The Gargantuas" will be shown in one such clip. Megagirious is another shown in a clip.
This movie would have been the perfect opportunity to finally introduce Gamera to the Godzilla saga. Why a "Godzilla vs. Gamera" movie was never made I'll never understand. That would have the potential to make far more money than any Godzilla movie ever made. Somebody really need to get that idea over to Toho to consider.

Posted by: BIG AL at March 14, 2005 01:13 AM

I am still kicking myself in the head for missing the opening in Hollywood. I am no more then freakin 30 min from the place had put it on my date sheet and life made me miss the only time I would ever go see someone get their star. I took a picture anyways. I went with some other people a few weeks later for a journey reunion and waited with someone while they got their star then went and looked for Godzilla's star. I instisted. It's right in front of the theater incase any of you ever come and visit. Dumb ass workers didn't even know where it was and they had a big deal there not more then two weeks earlier. Other then that, my last Big Godzilla opening was when Gozilla vs. Megallon came out. Many moons ago at the theater again and ofcourse one of my all time favorites was "when it was called" Godzilla and Rodan vs. Monster Zero. Godzilla, one bad ass monster along with Monster Zero. How could the U.S. think they could make a Godzilla movie better as stated before. No wonder there was no trailers.. LOL. should any of you find out about the DVD please let me know as I will be buying it that day and I will do the same.

Posted by: jay man at March 17, 2005 06:50 AM

There were trailers to the American made Godzilla movie. One featured him in Times Square on New Years Eve, when they were counting down to midnight. At zero, he knocked the ball down. Then you heard the loud Godzilla roar. But they didn't show him.
In another trailer, they showed people taking a tour in a dinasour musuem when all of a sudden, Godzilla's foot came crashing through the roof followed by the same roar. What's bizarre is none of these trailers were actual scenes in the movie.
As for the Monster Zero movie, I vaguely recall it was originally titled: "Godzilla & Rodan Meet Monster Zero" until they changed it to simply "Godzilla vs. Monster Zero."
My all time favorite Godzilla movie: "Destroy All Monsters".
Worst Godzilla movie made: "Godzilla vs. Megalon".

Posted by: BIG AL at March 18, 2005 12:34 AM

Hi Big Al the reason there has never been a Godzilla vs. Gamera movie is because Toho studios makes the Godzilla movies and Daiei studios makes the Gamera movies. I doubt if a co production movie will happen because each movie company will want their monster to win and Toho does not want to make another movie like KingKong vs. Godzilla in 1962 and have the movie end in a tie. The way Toho sees it Godzilla is already the King of the monsters and he has nothing to prove. but I agree a Godzilla vs. Gamera movie would be awesome for Kaiju fans all over the world. Btw if anyone would like to see or have pictures of my Godzilla movie poster collection e-mail me at [email protected] I have all 28 Godzilla movie posters. Subject should be Godzilla Poster Pictures

Posted by: David Nunez at March 19, 2005 07:09 PM

For those who dont know which monsters are in Godzilla Final Wars here is a list.
1 Godzilla
2 Rodan
3 Angilas
4 Mothra
5 Gigan
6 King Seesar
7 Hedora
8 Kumonga
9 Kamakiras
10 Manda
11 Minya
12 Ebera
13 Zilla 98
14 Monster x who becomes KaiserGhidora
The Godzilla Final Wars movie poster does not have Minya and Zilla 98 or KaiserGhidora on the poster. But the rest of the monsters are on the poster. Another GFW movie poster just has Godzilla on the poster.

I am only fifteen and I feel that I am a true Godzilla fan... Since my birth, my father has pumped me full of Godzilla Movies(including the classic "Rodan" movie and "Gamera" films). I LOVE the Big G. I have almost all of the "monster island" series action figures and I have seen every movie. I own every movie except Gigantis the Fire Monster, Tokyo SOS, and Final Wars. I CANNOT wait until GFW comes to DVD or theaters. Every moment I don't have that movie I think about it. I can't even cocentraite in school because the movie comes out in only a couple weeks! I have the Godzilla VIdeo Games and the new awesome PS2 GOdzilla: Save the Earh which rocks my socks... and I hate the guts of the AMerican Zilla and I can't wait till he gets beat up by Godzilla! I consider myself... a fan.

Actually, Daiei made the older Gamera movies. Toho now makes the newer Gamera movies which debuted in the '90's. There is talk on other Godzilla websites that Toho is THINKING of making a Godzilla vs Gamera movie in the new future. To access other Godzilla websites, do an Explorer search on the name "Godzilla". Unfortunately, I have Compuserve and can not provide a direct link and the web address are too long to post.

I had one source inform me he could get me the uncut version from Japan, but what true Godzilla fan in America wants to spend the whole movie reading subtitles! I have every Godzilla movie made, including some very rare versions of various Godzilla movies that cost me an arm and a leg to get my hands on. I would like anyone who knows the updated news on the release in US (dubbed) to email me the information. Thank you and to all you Godzilla bashers "You can kiss my ass" for your feable attemps to put down the most famous and liked movie star EVER!!! Who else has made so many movies with so many fans?

Sorry your all wrong. Godzilla can suck on my armoured-plated shell and eat my rocket-powered fireballs. I'm the bad a$$ frickin' Hero, Godzilla is just a unpredictable selfish and careless old feeble kuiju who was the result of some freak accident. He doesn't have the noble bloodline of an Ancient purpose genetic Bio-weapon for the protection of Humanity, yeah. Bring it on old man, you can barely take on a oversize Moth, I regularly eat them for breakfast. Watch out for my next movie later this year, no frickin' man-eating mutant bird is going to be flying about my patch, 500, 1000, or even 5000 combined can't match me. Roast chicken is on the menu, and so is Godzilla steak if you even sneeze in my direction, you f**king invalid geno-freak old man. Can any of godzilla fans tell when it to be released in canada. I've a litte cousin who is a big fan and he will not shut up about godzilla.
Thanks

Posted by: jason cyr at April 17, 2005 09:07 PM

godzilla is awsome but the footage of Zilla vs. Godzilla was pretty bit quick, anyway, who cares. We all tease that Godzilla(the usa one), he runs around too much and not intelligent. Zilla the series, he has the nuclear green breathe but he didn't use it for beam attack like monster X. I say, Space Godzilla must be back and upgraded his power to beat Kaiser because, when I look at Kaiser, he's not a fighter but a weapon, look at Space Godzilla, he has the telenikit punch like the Jedi forse.
final wars, 2 thumbs up and we all like shogo tomiyama movies and including (GSE), it means Godzilla Saves the Earth.
Man, godzilla, why did you go away, my hair is starting to be like Einstein and my face is turning brown as a african american but I am not black, I'm just an asain guy that is turning black and having lot of zits everywhere in my face plus my beautiful face is turning ugly because your missing, waaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!, where are u, when or what are you coming back online or get on the stick, man(sob).
I promise to shogo man and the other director too because someday people, you just wanna make your own monster first like a history, look at mothra, is she is a bad one before, yes, so i am going to make my own movie monster first, than godzilla is my next goal.
let's see your monster can defeat mine, hehehehe, it's the 2nd king of the monster but not as powerful as godzilla, my monster name is Godthera, it means god of ice but not just ice, the ice is very unique and powerful than any other creature, his gene can change his fire to strong ice that can explode. I also create 10 more monster but not strong as Godthera, some of them are all gods and guardians but people in this website, show me your creature stuff unless you are in godzilla fans. mwahahahahahaha, the 2nd king, but godzilla, the 1st king, the third is Kaiser or Space Godzilla.

I love toho so much, it's my goal

sooonn man, I, Jet Jaguar, godzilla must be back in the year 2006, he must be back, it's an argument, sign the treaty to put back godzilla on track again, no other director but shogo and the dude who made Versus and Azumi. They are the best director in the world(sob). sooo soooooon man, I gonna make my own history of my monster, Godthera, then he'll be in Godzilla forever, than Gamera.

to the message:
people in this website, let see if you can make a monster of your own but no copy cats, if it is, toho will not except you and I will sue each one of you who are trying to steal some my ideas so make your own, k.

to the director of gamera and godzilla:
do not break the deal that I promise, I will see how strong is godzilla and gamera is, soon man after past high school then college and get my master degree, but do not sue me about the other chat site that I post. Bye-bye.(sob)

Hey, guys! I got a couple of questions if can answer. Now I'm a Godzilla fan as the rest of you, but there's something I need to know! Now we all know Godzilla died in 1954 by Dr.Sarazawa's Oxygen Destroyer, reducing him into nothing. How could it be possible for him to return in Godzilla 1985, since this sequence takes place afterwards? And second, in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Ghidorah was created in the future, right? How could Emi knew that Ghidorah was defeated by Godzilla in the 20th century, when the battle hasn't taken place yet and they didn't leave the Dorats on Lagos Island to be exposed to radioactivity and become King Ghidorah? Now don't get me wrong; that movie ROCKED, but it was something that I was wondering. I hope any of my Godzilla brothers can answer these questions for me. Peace out!

WOW! WOW! WOW! I saw Godzilla Final Wars last july 9th in Chicago at the Pickwick Theatre at 10pm showing. I must confess I had big doubts about Godzilla Final Wars being any good after everything I had heard and read. Let me just say Godzilla Final Wars is one AWESOME movie. In my opinion this movie is a cross between Destroy All Monsters 1968 & Godzilla 1954 combined!!!. The movie is great the acting topnotch the special effects amazing!!! Godzilla just kills about every monster in the movie and he does it fast and quick his power is awesome. Godzilla in this movie is by far the baddest meanest most powerful villian to grace the silver screen. The part where Godzilla faces Tristars 1998 Godzilla called Zilla in this movie is a very short encounter basicly Godzilla hits him with his tail knocks him down then he nukes him with his atomic ray all within 5 secends. Before that Godzilla destroys the Harbor Bridge then the Sydney OperaHouse. Rodan buzzes NYC knocks down a few buildings then later you see the Statue of Liberty on its side. The fight between MonsterX and Godzila is very good Godzilla beats the heck out of Monster x then Monster X transforms into KaiserGhidora not to be confused with King Ghidora. Anyway KaiserGhidora starts to rob Godzillas energy like Orga did in Godzilla2000. At that point the Atragon submarine gives Godzilla energy by hitting him with atomic blasts. Godzilla absorbs the energy and tears KaiserGhidora to bits and peices. I wont tell you everything except that this movie GODZILLA FINAL WARS is by far the best Godzilla movie ever made and this s much better than GMK much better. Oh by the way for those who did not make it to G-Fest 12 this year all I can say is that it was awesome!! Last year 800 Godzilla fans saw Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla Tokyo SOS at the pickwick theatre during the time of G-Fest 11. This year I understand 1100 movie goers saw Godzilla Final Wars at the pickwick theatre during the time of G-Fest 12. I know the movie KingKong which opens december 14th will no doubt be a great movie but after seen Godzilla Final Wars I doubt if Peter Jacksons KingKong movie will be nearly as good trust me its that good. Hi I was just reading a few older postings here and I saw that someone had posted that the Gamera movies made from 1995-1999 were made by Toho and not Daiei this is not true at all. Daiei has always and still does own the rights to Gamera. Back in the mid 90s Daiei produced 3 new Gamera movies all directed by Shusuke Kaneko and these are called the Heisei Gamera movies. I am sure many of you have heard the news about Daiei making Gamera The Little Braves due out in 2006.
Also for those who have posted that Toho studios cant deliver on Special effects then you havent seen Godzilla Final Wars I cant wait to get the DVD but I am happy I was able to see GFW in a Theatre one word WOW!!! I think there might be confusion about Daiei and Toho because Toho distributes movies for Daiei but Toho does not own the rights to Gamera. Toho is the biggest Japanese movie company and they probley distribute for alot of other Japanese movie companys as well. I doubt very much if there will be a co production movie between Toho & Daiei for a Godzilla vs. Gamera movie. There have been talks about such a project in years past but Toho said no and their reason was simple Godzilla is already the King of the Monsters and has nothing to prove. For those who have posted that Godzilla sucks I laugh in your face because Godzilla is the only movie monster that has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame it is Star #2270 and very close to Graumans Chinese Theatre where Godzilla Final Wars had its World Premier. Also keep in mind that Godzilla has the longest running movie series in the world where all the movies are made by one movie studio 28 movies total James Bond ranks 2nd with 20 movies produced by Pinewood studios. Posted by: David Nunez at July 19, 2005 10:40 PM

Hi Darnell I just read your post and those are excellent questions well the reason Godzilla was able to return 30 years later in Godzilla 84/85 is because Toho studios was making a 2nd Godzilla movie series called the Heisei series which would began in 84 and end in 95 7 movies were made. Now the 1st movie was a direct sequel to the original 1954 Godzilla movie Toho scripted the movie so that Godzilla awakens after 30 years and is brought back to life after he was thought to have been destroyed by the Oxygen bomb. Then in Godzilla vs. Biollante Godzilla comes out of the crater or Volcano and confronts Biollante the movie ends with in a tie Godzilla returns to the sea Biollante goes into space. Now as far as Godzilla vs. KingGhidora 1991 movie goes the story is simple the people of the future go back in time 10 years before Godzilla attacked Tokyo in 1954 they go back in time to 1944 when the USA and Japan were at War. There they discoverd Godzilla on Lagos Island before he was mutated by the H-Bomb that was tested at Bilini Island. The people of the future change the future by teleporting Godzillasarus into the bearing sea. So that in 10 years when the H-Bomb is tested Godzillasarus wont mutate into Godzilla. However the future people let 3 Dorats lose on Lagos which they mutate into KingGhidora in 10 years when the H-Bomb is tested. Godzillasarus has been asleep in the bearing sea for 33 years and in 1977 a Japanese fishing boat carrying atomic waste sinks and Godzillasarus has been mutating into Godzilla since 1977. Then in 1992 a Japanese submarine nukes Godzilla with atomic torperdoes in order to get Godzillasrus into becoming Godzilla so he will wake up and fight King Ghidora in 1992. The Godzilla movies from 1955 Godzilla Raids again to 1975 Terror of MechaGodzilla have nothing to do with the 1984-1995 Godzilla movies they are 2 diffrent Godzilla movie series. The Godzilla movies made from 1999Godzilla 2000 to 2004 Godzilla Final Wars have nothing to do with the other 2 series each Godzilla series retlls the story of Godzilla. However in the 3rd series each movie is a direct sequel to the original 1954 Godzilla movie except Godzilla x Mothra x MechaGodzilla which is a direct sequel to Godzilla x MechaGodzilla. Hey, David! I appreciate that you were trying to answer my question, but I know the sequences of the movies, no offense at all. And you didn't seem to answer my questions, probably because of the way I worded it. In Godzilla 1985, I just wanted yours and everybody else's theories of how Godzilla survived in the first movie and returned in 1985, that's all. What's your theory in how he survived when you saw him die in the first one? Like, do you think there was a small sample or a part of him that remained? And if you look at Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah at the beginning, you see the 3-headed monster in lying at the bottom of the ocean as a result of a battle w/ Godzilla. Think about it (THIS IS NOT SARCASM). The fight didn't take place because the Dorats weren't exposed by the H-Bomb in the very beginning of the movie, but later on toward the middle of the movie, which meant that the time travelers would have done it before, but they didn't, which meant that when they went back in time to do it, it was for the first time when it already happened. I know it sounds confusing, but that was how I was putting out my questions. Ihope you can understand it now. Don't get me wrong, I DO APPRECIATE you helping me, but I think I worded it wrong. By the way, Thanks for the heads up for GFW. Toho isn't going to put it into English? Why? As much as I love monster action, I enjoy the dialogue as well.

Posted by: Darnell at July 20, 2005 10:31 PM

Hi Dernell at the beginning of Godzilla vs. KingGhidora there is that scene where the submarine spots KingGhidora at the bottom of the sea. That scene takes place after Emi returns to the year 2204 when Godzilla killed KingGhidora in 1992. Emi returns back to the future so she can find KingGhidora and help make MechaGhidora then return to 1992 to fight Godzilla with MechaGhidora. As far as I know Toho says Godzilla didnt really die in the 1954 movie when the 1984 movie was made this was a new series so Toho said Godzilla survived and was resurected30 years later. The entire Heisei series was a retelling of the Godzilla story which has nothing to do with the 14 movies that followed the 1954 movie. The 1991 movie Godzilla vs. KingGhidora was all about timelines and how the timelines had changed and created newtimeline. Which in my opinion was very imganitive because Godzilla never attacked Tokyo in 1954 because time had changed. There has always been the presumption that Godzilla died because of the Oxygen bomb Toho hd to face this problem when they made Godzilla Raids Again in 1955. They never say its a diffrent Godzilla in 1955 what is said is that they cant stop Godzilla because the guy who invented the Oxygen Bomb Dr. serizawa is dead. I have both the original jap version of Godzilla Raids Again and the USA version Gigantis the FireMonster 1959 in both versions they say the same thing its Godzilla and now they is a new monster Angilas. Its intersting to watch this movie with Angilas because again viewers are led to think Angilas died at the hands of Godzilla when infact he did not die but he surivived and was seen later in other movies. I wont explain the Angilas saga now its to long but you can e-mail me and i will explain [email protected] When the Dorats were let loose on Lagos Island Emi had no idea they would become KingGhidora 10 years later when the H-Bomb would mutate the into KingGhidora when the blast would be felt on Lagos island in 1954. By the way I was wondering do you have english versions of the Godzilla movies that are dubbed in english or do you have the original Jap versions which are subtitled in english? If you have the english speaking versions try and get original jap versions with english subtitles as they dont have deleted scenes. David nunez Gojira11354

Posted by: David Nunez at July 22, 2005 06:33 AM

Hey! David. Thanks for your opinions. It does make sense though when you explained about how the conversation between Emi and the scientist in the beginning was the one near the end of the film. All of this time, I'm trying to figure out the rules of time travel and the space-time continuum. Now I'm not confused. And again, thanks for the explanation for Godzilla 1985, although it did seem that Godzilla didn't die. My theory is that a part of him remained after the effects of the Oxygen Destroyer, and due to his radioactive compounds in his body, he was able to regenerate himself fully, probably taking him 30 years do so to make his return in Godzilla 1985. But hey, that would be my theory. What do you think about that? Oh, and to answer your question, I have almost all Godzilla movies, and they all are dubbed in English. That's why I was hoping that Godzilla Final Wars would be the same. I like to hear the talking as well as the action, like any other movie. Do you think that they may dub it into English? If they don't, I might still get it, although I would like to hear the dialogue.

Posted by: Darnell at July 22, 2005 02:34 PM

Hi darnell if I were you I would try and get the original Japanese uncut movies. The english versions are cut and have deleted scenes and the dubbing is diffrent than the original jap versions. If I were I would order Godzilla movies from Video DaiKaiju they sell original uncut Godzilla movies and they are subtitled in english. In the original 1984 Godzilla movie Godzilla Returns Raymond Burr is not in the movie however Raymond Burr is in the USA version Godzilla 1985 same movie but with scenes filmed with Burr in them. The original 1984 movies is much better and its longer. The Raymond Burr 1985 version is only 91 minutes long its shorter. The same can be said about Gojira1954 a.k.a. Godzilla it does not have Raymond Burr in that movie but in the english version Godzilla King of the Monsters 1956 same movie it has Burr. Again the english version is shorter. Try and get the original uncut Godzilla movies you will be better off doing so. You can e-mail VideoDaiKaiju at [email protected] ask for them for a catalog. You dont need a credit card to get movies from them a money order wil do just fine and shipping and handling is free you just pay for the movies you order. But you must buy 2 or more movies. Your theory was right after 30 years Godzilla recooped from the Oxygen bomb and attacked Tokyo 30 years later in 1984.

you guys are all right when it comes to Godzilla 1954 to 1984, but another theory could be that there have been several different Godzillas of differing Gender and size. That would explain some of the differences between costumes throughout the entire Godzilla saga(I know, it was just Toho changing the suit, but im talking about movie plots here. One thing i think was interesting is that in G vs. Destroyer, G Jr. has almost a "Gameraish" love of Mankind, but he is the one that taked over the Big G's reign of terror. how does this make sense? G 2000 was certainly not a friend to all children. I am also very excited about GFW and have been looking for the longger trailers online. the only one ive seen is the one that has the origonal roar, followed by the current roar, with G blowing flame and a deep voice saying "this is the end." but i will keep looking.

The style harkens back to the 70's (a good thing) and you just have to love the english speaking character in there! Man, I feel so... stereotyped. I can't say enough good things about this film. Gabara, you may come off as a little retarded, but you're a dirty fighter and you're pretty cool on my list!!! note to self: Don't transform, I just get beaten that way, and I'm too damn slow in my second form.

EVERYONE!!! of all the monsters in GFW only, who is your favorite? I'm interested in seeing who gets the most fans in this particular movie. For me, I absolutely love Monster X! He's so wicked looking and such a excellent fighter!!!

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 6, 2005 05:28 PM

HEY, Cody! What's up, man! Look I haven't seen it yet, but our main man Godzilla, my favorite is Anguirus, definitely. Since, you've seen be honest, give me your input, but don't give me all the details. Hey guys! I won a English dubbed version of GFW on ebay two days ago. A lot of people were bidding on it, but your man has come out on top. Some woman in Canada bought it, and I'm expecting it soon. After I won, I was like, "F*** you, guys! I WON"! I know it's kind of funny, but as wierd as this may sound, but this was the most happiest day of my life besides sex.

Speaking of Godzilla Final Wars I thought I would have a Godzilla Marathon and I saw all 28 Godzilla movies back to back in 3 days friday saturday & sunday.I saw Godzilla 1954 to Godzilla Final Wars 2004. I started watching the Godzilla movies at 7:30am friday and I saw 11 movies I stopped watching at 1am. I got up saturday and began watching at 8am and I saw 10 Godzilla movies again I stopped at 1am. By that time I had seen 21 Godzilla movies and sunday I began watching at 7:30am and I quit at 8:15 pm after I saw Godzilla Final Wars. I saw 44 hours of Godzilla movies with about 5 hours of sleep friday night and 5 hours of sleep saturday night total time sleep included was 54 hours. This was the 5th time I have seen Godzilla Final Wars btw. David Nunez Gojira11354

Posted by: David Nunez at September 7, 2005 02:35 PM

well, Darnell, I haven't actually seen the movie, but I have loads of clips and trailers and stuff and I have read numberless amounts of reviews and looked at pictures. In my opinion, from what I have seen, this movie will blow me away, because I haven't seen a Godzilla movie I didn't like except for Godzilla 1998. So far, the special effects look great, the suits are the best yet, Kumonga and Kamakuras look better than they ever have and the plot sounds very exciting. I'm saying all this with the assumption you were unaware, but if you are, well then it's great review. Also(in case you didn't know), your favorite kaiju, Anguirus, looks absolutely vicious and stunning like all the rest of the cast. He performs moves that normally wouldn't be risked because of terrible results, with grace and excellence. His attack on Shanghai, China looks awesome!!!

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 7, 2005 04:51 PM

Also, as i'm sure you already knew Darnell, Monster X(my favorite kaiju of all) is Godzilla's final and most powerful opponent. Monster X's fighting abilites and physical strength rival those of even Kiryu who was very agile and graceful in high capacity mode(without backpack). Where Kiryu had performed moves that already existed in the real world, a majority of Monster X's moves are new and creative. (hate to spoil) One such move was when Monster X and Godzilla were charging at each other, as Monster X got real close to Godzilla, he jumped into the air in a rotating manner, starting by using his fist to deliver a blow to Godzill's face as he whipped around while in the air and gave Godzilla a whopping hit with his whiplike tail(s). Then as Monster X was falling back towards Godzilla, he locked hands with Big G and bent them downward without any struggle at all as they made a breaking sound and lifted godzilla into the air by the arms!!!! But I'll stop there. Just wanted to excite you even more. I just hope you didn't know a majority of that cuz I would have written that whole thing for nothing. That's all for now. I hope you enjoy the movie as I'm sure I will. Happy 50th Anniversary Godzilla!!!

HEY Cody! Thanks for the review. I didn't know Godzilla fought Monster X last, although that would seem obvious. The details you wrote just fired up my anticipation. GOD I CAN'T WAIT.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 8, 2005 04:50 PM

I hope I'm not annoying anyone because of the fact that i always bring up Monster X all the time. But he's my absolute favorite kaiju right now and so I would like to ask my last Monster X related question and this goes for everyone who reads this...............what do you guys think of him? I would like to hear opinions on every aspect of him . Also, if you're going to be really negative about him(some people don't like him) I would prefer not to hear any comments like that regarding him. Otherwise, be honest. You can state negative aspects of him in your opinion, just don't like give him a bunch of shit or insult him.

I have a clip of Godzila and Monster X fighting already, it's pretty kick ass

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 14, 2005 07:21 PM

In fact, I have an enourmous motherload of all the trailers and teaser trailers for the movie, and mny of the monster appearances in the movie, and some fight clips and even a small portion of the fight between Ebirah and the mutant soldiers. Also, I have a 15 minute long download that is a Japanese tv special that talks all about the movie and even has an introduction with clips of every monster in the movie(except Zilla, Minya, and Kaiser Ghidorah) that was shown in Japan, and it is totaly awesome. But very long of course. Oh, I also have some clips of American news clips and reports that were done on GFW. Scroll up a little bit and you can see some comments that I posted regarding the awesome skeletal, ass kicking, bone breaking beast(Monster X).

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 14, 2005 07:35 PM

Oh, by the way, the comment you posted negatively regarding Gamera, while I understand your reasons of hatred and dislike towards him, I find the Gamera series, speifically the Heisei one, to be my second favorite kaiju eiga movie series. I own the entire Heisei Gamera trilogy in a 3 DVD Limited Edition box set(which will run you down by about $50!!!) and I must say it is a very well done series. The DVD's have very fine picture quality and sound quality and the monster action never disappoints. But, yes, Godzilla and the Godzilla series are far superior than Gamera and his movies. Reasons include that Godzilla was here first, there are far more Godzilla movies therefore resulting in a larger variety of monsters, moves , characters, ideas, etc. etc. Not to mention that Gamera releases intense plasma flamery which totally contradicts his aquatic nature. Come to think of it, a fire breathing turtle such as Gamera would be an excellent replacement for Bowser from the Mario series and games.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 14, 2005 07:54 PM

Also, I forgot to mention that the 3 DVD box set has loads of extra features and trailers.

Hey, Cody! Remember that I said that I won GFW on ebay? Well the women that was selling it is going to send it out to me on Friday, so it will take a few days, though. But you know what, it doesn't matter because I will have it and I can't wait to see it. You know Cody. You could get it, too! You could go to ebay and look for it, of course you will have to register first. There is plenty. That goes to all my Godzilla Brothers. I've seen DVDs and VHS of GFW on ebay, both in Japanese and English versions. You guys should get them while you can, of course you may have to beat others to them, but do so if you want to see Godzilla kick monster butt!

Posted by: Darnell at September 14, 2005 11:50 PM

I've been to ebay and I am aware that GFW is available there. I have it planned to order a GFW Region 0 DVD. Though I did not know i had to register with ebay. Thanks for the tip!!!

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 15, 2005 07:36 AM

No problem! Let me know when you get and tell me about it!

Posted by: Darnell at September 17, 2005 11:39 AM

Hey Darnell, there's been a change of plans. First of all, I decided not to purchase GFW at ebay for reasons that I don't want to bid and I am not old enough to use ebay. Instead, I decided to order "Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon" and a special Showa Godzilla movie 5 DVD set from Amazon.com. I chose to get those because Amazon has very low prices, they deliver quick, and I don't have to register. As for GFW, I'll just go ahead and wait for the release of the official Region 1 DVD from Sony Picture Home Entertainment, as of which, I will then order the movie to add to my small kaiju eiga collection. Although, I would really enjoy hearing your comments about the movie after you see it. Maybe you can help increase my excitement in ways that the downloads, reviews, etc. couldn't.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 18, 2005 07:00 PM

Secondly, I would like to know if you have ever seen and/or own "Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon". A long time ago, I had planned to order it, but dropped the plans for Gamera trilogy Special Editon 3 DVD box set. Anyway, I have read few reviews(they're kind of rare) about the movie and DVD in general and they usually come across as pretty negative or saying the movie is mediocre. If possible, maybe you could help me out here in deciding if this is a wise choice.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 18, 2005 07:05 PM

Hey, Cody! I didn't know that you were under 18. Well the woman who I bought GFW from is sending it to me in the mail tomorrow morning, which would probably take a week to get to me from Canada. Honestly, I never heard of Orochi the 8-Headed Dragon. Now to choose that or the Gamera trilogy? To be honest, I'm not a Gamera fan, if you like it, that's okay. I don't know the exact answer to give you; however, you ask yourself this question: "Which one do I feel strongly of getting?" Whatever feels strongest get it, but if it's still even, I suppose you could flip heads or tails (laughing). Get one of them now and the other later. That's my solution. I hope it helps. Don't worry, when I get GFW, I'll give you the details.

Posted by: Darnell at September 20, 2005 09:27 AM

Well, I already have the Gamera trilogy(which is very good mind you) but what I was saying was should I get Orochi or should i not get it at all. I wasn't actually trying to decide between it and something else as i may have made it sound. But Orochi, the Eight Headed Dragon review can be found at Toho Kingdom. Anthony Romero(owner of the site) isn't very positive about it and gives it a low rating if I remember correctly, but you can at least find out what it is. It was made in 1994 though, the same year as Godzilla vs. spacegodzilla. And just like GvSG, The movie has really good special effects some of the time and really bad effects some of the time(from what I've read.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 20, 2005 04:46 PM

And the film was made by Toho Co. Ltd. too. It was released on American home video in 1999 by ADV Films. I just checked and Anthony Romero of Toho Kingdom gave it a 4/10, a mere 40%!!! Not very good rating. But I still want to get it badly and Anthony does say that it is a guilty pleasure. Apparently, one of the film's good features is that it offers a cast of some of the most diverse kaiju since the Godzilla films of the 70's. Such as giant samurai warrior, multiple headed dragon, lava god and others. Orochi, by the way, is a red, quadruped, eight headed dragon with a large tail. His heads and necks sport a suspiciously striking resemblance to Heisei King Ghidorah's heads and necks. Anyway, not to get carried away, I look forward to hearing your views and opinions on Godzilla Final Wars, hopefully the best G-film so far(in my opinion so far). Remember, try to enjoy the film despite what half of all GFW reviews say about it(the other half thinks its awesome) and try to keep in mind that it is Godzilla-related entertainment afterall, and even if this film is just a mess of thrown together movies, it should hopefully kick your ass, LOL!!!!

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 20, 2005 07:09 PM

Hey, Darnell!!! I forgot to mention it but I am currently developing a kaiju story. Unfortunately for people reading this, I will not be releasing any detailed information on it but I will mention a few small basic facts about it. First of all, it will be a fan fiction type story, but I plan on making it epic in some respects. The cast of monsters are all space category and there is only a few. I have also partially developed a new kaiju to feature in the story. I was going to feature Spacegodzilla, but I replaced him with another monster. Because I dropped Space G, that's why I revealed his name, however, I will not reveal the name of the replacement. There are only two monsters that aren't space types(could change, not factored into number of space kaiju). The story will most likely be considerably longer than most average done fan fiction stories. It will be slower paced and more dramatic. Also, unlike most stories which feature almost no character development, mine will hopefully have a decent amount of that, therefore, pushing it closer to being considered a successful and acceptable story. When all my long, hard work on it is done, I will try to submit it to a kaiju fan site like maybe Kaiju HQ if that site ever begins accepting new fan fiction. Either way, I will try to inform you when I submit it, but as I mentioned already, that won't be for awhile, but patience, thinking, and concentration are requiered to finish this. Too bad I have so much school, that really slows me down. Without school, I could cut my time down massively.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 20, 2005 09:39 PM

One more thing, unlike most fan fiction stories which are mostly "monster + monster=BOOM!! I will make this more of a story, not a simple slugfest, altough the fights will be fun and exciting and will be more detailed and longer(they'll get good feature time :) Just to let you know, I am in the stage of gathering detailed info on certain monsters, developing a new kaiju(won't be some bizarre superbeast like other stories), and writing bits and pieces of a rough draft. Like amovie, I will skip around on the script.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 20, 2005 09:48 PM

Hey, Darnell!! This message is just for fun because i'm doing this from school, fuck yeah!!!

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 21, 2005 10:35 AM

Hey, Cody! Sounds like your kaiju story might be interesting. But even school may have you busy, you still have plenty of time of doing your story.School should be your priority. As for me, I have professors on my back, so my studies are my main priority. But in the event. I'm not trying to lecture you or anything, just giving my opinion. Who knows? You might be a writer for Japan,or maybe TOHO Co. might make your story into a movie. There are many possibilities. By the way, about the Orochi movie, I think you should buy it, but make sure you can get a money back guarentee if you don't like it, or sell it to someone who may like it.

Posted by: Darnell at September 21, 2005 08:59 PM

Thanks Darnell for the postive output! By the way, even if I don't enjoy Orochi too much, I would still keep it because I want what little kaiju merchandise I can get my armored, clawed little hands on.

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 22, 2005 07:00 PM

Hey Darnell, you should join the kaiju kingdom forums, they have a small memberlist, but it's a very good froum. I'm, I guess you could say, the site editor. My name is, not surprisingly, Monster X. Come join!!!

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 27, 2005 07:01 PM

Hey, Cody! I just got the GFW DVD today. I saw it and let me tell you something: IT ROCKED!!! It was the best Godzilla movie that I've ever seen. The fights were a bit short, but there was a lot of action. I'm not joking. The Godzilla vs. Monster X fight was awesome. You've got to get it and SEE IT.

Posted by: Darnell at September 28, 2005 11:20 PM

I plan on geting it in the near future. But you're making me very eager, I'm almost tempted to get it now, I do have the money pretty much anyway. But how does the bidding system work and what abut the forums I mentioned?

Posted by: Cody Monk at September 29, 2005 06:17 PM

Hey, Cody! Here's how the bidding system works on ebay. Once you're 18 and you register, you search for the movie or anything else you want. Then, if they have it, there will be a list. You pick what you want based on the price. Some of the items are being bidded on, but you can join in and bid for it, but you have make a price that's higher than the one who bid the highest. Once you do that, you're the highest bidder, until others try to outbid you. But I would recommend that if your opponents bid higher than you can afford, don't bother and try another one. Remember. Auctions have a time limit, and if you bid the highest, it's your responsibility to make sure it stays that way. You'll get emails from ebay that you are currently bidding on an item, and they'll email you if you were outbid, how much time left, or if you won. Now some of the sellers prefer some type of payments, like paypal, check, cash, or money order. Before you start bidding, make sure that the payment the seller requests is convenient for you. The same rule applies when some auctions have "Buy It Now" options, which if the price is good, buy it. Then you'll go through a pay now sequence and you're good to go.

Posted by: Darnell at October 2, 2005 01:13 PM

thanks, I'll remember that! Check out Kaiju Kingdom Forums sometime. I'm registered there and my name is Monster X. It would be fun to have you join.

"Godzilla"
(by Blue Oyster Cult):

With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high tension wires down

Helpless people on a subway train
Scream bug-eyed as he looks in on them

He picks up a bus and he throws it back down
As he wades through the buildings toward the center of town

Oh no, they say he's got to go
Go go Godzilla, yeah
Oh no, there goes Tokyo
Go go Godzilla, yeah

Rinji news o moshiagemasu!
Rinji news o moshiagemasu!
Godzilla ga Ginza hoomen e mukatte imasu!
Daishkyu hinan shite kudasai!
Daishkyu hinan shite kudasai!

Oh no, they say he's got to go
Go go Godzilla, yeah
Oh no, there goes Tokyo
Go go Godzilla, yeah

History shows again and again
How nature points up the folly of men

I can't wait until Final Wars comes out!!!!! It's going to be a blast. On monsterzero.com it said that Moster X turns into KaiserGidorah. If you look at the pix on Godzilla: Save the Earth that have pictures from Godzilla Final Wars, they have a concept drawing of the new look for Gigan. The new version of him kicks serious tale!!!!!!!!! On Amazon under Godzilla Final Wars it tells you when the movie is coming out. It comes out on December 13. Hey Jeffry, I agree with you on one thing about your postage above the BOC song. The USA Godzilla SUCKS but what I don't agree with you is that you said that King Kong sucks too. Kong is pretty cool too.

I knew all that already. I did find a cool pic of Monster X though, a figure of him in a wicked style that displays what he would look like if he was an actual living creature:
