Tina Fey goes back to high school with Mean Girls
Girls just want to be mean, right?
You see and hear this all the time in movies, books and songs. In fact, two weeks ago Law & Order:SVU did a whole episode on what lengths girls will go to get revenge on each other. It's done so much that when I originally heard about Mean Girls I was like oh god, not another teen movie. Didn't we already do this with Jawbreaker and The In Crowd? Then I found out the Tina Fey wrote the script and started to think this movie might actually be worth watching. Tina Fey is one of the talented writers for SNL. Her mock news segment with Jimmy Fallon can at times be the only funny part of the show. Now if she can crack out some original jokes from a comedic skit that almost every comedian does (Jon Stewart, Jay Leno & Craig Kilborn), I can only imagine what she can do with evil high school girls.
The movie is about Caddy (Lindsay Lohan) who after studying abroad in Africa, begins attending a high school in Illinois. There she gets accepted into an A-list group of girls (Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfriend) but things go wrong for her when she falls for the Leader of Pack's(McAdams) ex-boyfriend(Jonathan Bennet).The girls result to sneaky, cuthroat tactics to get back at each other.
Still sound like another teen movie? Well it did to me until I saw the crazy trailer for it. So far it proves to be a great mixture of Fey's quirky punchlines and Freaky Friday director Mark S. Water's use of physical humor. The film has a suprising amount of old teenage soap stars (Bennett, Chabert, Seyfried) who so far are pulling off good jobs of being comedians. I was even more exitced to find out that Lizzy Caplan (yes, that's right, Lana obessed Tina Greer from Smallville) was going to be one of the lead characters.
I've been following the buzz around this movie and like a lot of others, I predict it will be in the ranks of Clueless, the stylish teenage remake of Jane Austen's Emma starring Alicia Silerstone. One thing is for sure, the verdict will be out on April 30th when the movie hits theaters.

And let's not forget the real reason to go see it -- Watching me walk behind and around the lead ladies in the mall with the cool jacket.
Sigh.. This is what I've got to amount for after almost 3 decades.

I have always been a fan of teen movies. Perhaps its a desperate attempt to cling to my youth (I still buy lego, I just have to claim its for my 6 year old) "Not Another Teen Movie" was very funny and a great time for me as I picked out all the easter eggs that everyone else didn't get because they were 19.
I have always liked Lacey Chabert as well. I was once a fan of Party of Five (until I got tired of nothing good EVER happening), and I still get mocked for liking Lost in Space.
Lacey is all grown up, and its good to see that she didn't dissappear as a child actor, now lets see how long she can keep employed as a teen actor.

I used to live in the same house as said cool jacket and have already seen Day-vuhl wearing said jacket and also pretty much nothing at all. This negates the only reason given that may compel me to see this film.

Man, I simply can't read "...liking Lost in Space" enough times. It's just more amazing every time I read it. You do realize that on IMDB, Lost in Space ranks more than a Half-Grade LOWER than *The Skulls*??? Dude, that's intense.
One sec, I've spent too much time typing this, I need to go re-read it again...

ir relly loved mean girls linsay lohan is so talented , this movie is the best for all ages especially for teenagers like me and my friend who went to see the other day we found it so funny we got told to shut up most of the time because we were laughing so much

I think it looks hilarious. I don't know that I agree with how far the industry is pushing Lohan with all the film shoots, singing and performing, but she's doing well. I'll probably see it, because it looks oh-so-funny, and I'm a fan of teen movies.
