ALL NIGHTER:
I really enjoyed the seemingly unlikely team-up between J.K. Simmons and Emile Hirsch. This is a funky comedy about a father in search of his daughter with the assistance of her ex-boyfriend. While the daughter Ginnie is at the center of the plot, it’s the relationship between her father Mr. Gallo (Simmons) and ex-boyfriend Martin (Hirsch) that drives the story in their unlikely and awkward pairing. I enjoyed the film for the comedy that it provides and a story that’s easy and entertaining to follow. This story formula has been done before, but the characters and their shenanigans sold me on it.
