Thor 3 is going to be a grim movie

So Thor Ragnaraok is yet another outing where the God of Thunder is going to go on some otherworldly adventure in the far realms where mortal men don’t normally wander, and he’s taking the Hulk with him for the adventure! Well, it turns out that some dark shit is going to go on in this movie which should already be implied in the movie title. Shit gets bad when you gotta use “Ragnarok” and although the obvious may be lost to casual fans but comic fans and the guys over at Birth.Movies.Death fully know what to expect in this one. It’s the cycle of death and rebirth for the Asgardians and we may yet see some big changes with our favorite Mjolnir wielder.

It’s so serious, so dark, that Marvel decided to hire a comedy director to bring a touch of lightness to the proceedings. Yes, Taika Waititi was hired to balance out the grimness of the script and bring it tonally a little closer to what Marvel fans have come to expect.

That’s what sources deep inside Disney are whispering to me, anyway. Waititi may yet be joined by another writer to help brighten the corners of Ragnarok while maintaining writer Christopher Yost’s apocalyptic vibe. One way that may happen is to up the humor between Thor and Hulk, who I have been led to believe will be not only appearing in the movie but will be playing a major role. The two heroes will be taking a cosmic road trip together, Hope and Crosby style.

Along the way they’re going to meet Valkyries, as you might expect from a story about the Norse end of the world, but my source tells me that besides the Valkyries (generic) the film might launch Marvel superheroine Valkyrie into the Cinematic Universe.

Now, these words don’t come from Feige himself. It’s second hand chatter relayed from a fellow film blogger so you should absolutely take this with a helping heap of salt but with these rumors seeming persistant I wouldn’t at all be surprised if there’s a grain of truth.

I totally believe the Hulk will appear in this movie as Marvel hasn’t revealed any plans to bring the character to the screen prior to the next Avengers movie way out in 2018. That’s a pretty long time between appearances seeing as how every other Avengers character at least makes a cameo every 18 months or so. All the rest about Enchantress and Valkyrie’s is entirely possible, if not all that interesting, so I’m going to move forward believing that this is the plot and premise until I hear otherwise.

What do you think about the idea of Hulk and Thor going on a cosmic adventure? It’s no World War Hulk but it beats a ‘blank’.
