Trailer: Chris Evans brings Anthony Mackie for ‘Playing it Cool’

I’ll admit that I’m a fan of Chris Evans. The guy just oozes cool with his boyband hair and witty and charming personality and seeing him on screen again with Anthony Mackie is pretty cool too. I may not be as proficient with chick flicks as say Ryan but if you add in a couple of Avengers to the mix and I’m down to give it a shot. This latest trailer shows what would happen if Chris Evans was pessimistic about love but was somehow in love with an engaged women. Yes, the potential for hilarity is monumental:

This is the story of ME (Evans), a young man disillusioned by love, who meets a breathtaking young woman, HER (Monaghan), at a charity dinner by pretending to be a philanthropist. Only one problem: she’s engaged. Yet, he engages into a platonic relationship to be able to keep seeing her. Like a young Walter Mitty using the power of imagination and wild vignettes, HE will stop at nothing to conquer HER heart.

I like seeing Mackie and Evans in a more relaxed role than their previous pairing where they pretty much had to save the world. There’s some charm in this one but only time will tell if it will rise to the top among the crowded Rom-Com genre.

That’s all for now…

“Dear Lillian, soon I hope to take you on a Caribbean cruise, where we can hold hands on a soft summer's evening and watch that old Jamaican moon. Why that old Jamaican will be mooning us, I have no idea.”
