While perusing FaceBook, as I do far more frequently these days, I came across a news article stating that Disney announced the cast for Star Wars Episode VII! I was a bit skeptical but then ventured over to StarWars.com where the news was reiterated and I found the confirmation I was looking for.

John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley (Blue Season), Adam Driver (who was previously rumored to play Nightwing), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd), and Max von Sydow (Minority Report) are all joining Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher in the new film.

JJ had this carefully worded comment to share:

We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.

 

I’m more than a little surprised to see John Boyega in the cast but I had to admit that I am extremely curious to learn his role in the film. (fingers cross he has the lead). We’ll see how this all pans out, now everyone begin your love/hate statements about the cast below starting…. NOW!
