Interview with Booboo Stewart from X-Men and Twilight

— Posted by Jim Alexander

Booboo Stewart is only 20 years old. Already he has starred in two major box office blockbuster franchises in Twilight and X-Men: Days of Future Past. I got a chance to meet and speak to Booboo about his career recently at the Chicago Wizard World Comic Con.

Jim: How are you enjoying this experience in Chicago?

Booboo: Oh yea, it’s been fantastic. Just looking around you see Ironman, X-Men, it’s been really cool.

Jim: Is this your first time doing a Comic Con event?

Booboo: Like this one? Yes. I’ve been to Comic Con before as a fan. But doing it like this, definitely yes it’s my first time. It’s really cool, lot of people here.

Jim: What did you think of Chicago? Did you get to walk around and check it out?

Booboo: I just got in this morning. I took a red-eye here, went straight to the hotel. Woke up an hour before, got ready.

Jim: And then I bet the humidity hit you..

Booboo: It was crazy! I was getting out of the airport, I was like I really need a sweatshirt, it was raining. It looked really cold outside. Then I got out and was like holly crap, thankfully I didn’t bring that sweatshirt. I’m sweating already!

Booboo: It’s been really interesting. Honestly, today has been interesting. There were a lot of couples that would come up together. The wife has the Twilight picture, and the husband has the X-Men one. It’s been very cool to see the different steam of fans. To see the difference and similarity between them. A fan is a fan, you know I’m a fan. I have a tattoo of the Joker on my arm. I loved Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight. I wouldn’t be doing this if I wasn’t a fan myself. The reason I started doing this, is because I’m a fan of these types of movies.

Jim: To think that you are now a part of this superhero and comic book franchise.

Booboo: I think to myself, like wow this is really cool and surreal.

Jim: Anything you are currently working on that you would like the fans to know about?

Booboo: Yeah, I just finished a movie called Descendants. It’s a Disney action-comedy-musical.

Jim: Animation or live-action?

Booboo: It’s live action. It’s a film about the villains offspring getting a second chance. I play Jaffar’s son Jay. It’s really interesting. I just finished that. So, now I can just go home and relax.

Jim: Weren’t you part of that world-wide media tour for X-Men?

Booboo: Ohh yes, I was. Now, I’m hanging out here in Chicago.

Jim: Any news or tidbits on the next X-Men Apocalypse?

Booboo: Honestly, I don’t know what’s going on? I know this one takes place in the past, and our characters are in the future. I don’t know? Just thinking about it from a fan’s point of view I have no idea? I still don’t know if I will be in it or not. I mean of course, who would pass up on an opportunity to be back in it? I would definitely do it! But really, I honestly don’t know what’s going on with it.

Jim: Thanks for taking your time on this busy day here.

Booboo: Yeah, no problem. Thanks for chatting.
