Tyler Perry is delivering “Madea’s Christmas”

— Posted by The "Superior" Anthony

12 years ago someone brought to my dorm room a tape of some sort of faith based play featuring a man dressed as a woman giving spiritual advice. I eventually thought the play was pretty neat and moved on in life but paid attention when I saw that the play was being adapted into a feature film. Little did I know that dang play was the beginning of the medioric rise of Tyler Perry and his brand of films. Today I felt something when I saw this in my inbox:

I have mixed feelings when I see that a new Tyler Perry movie is being released because I have to now perform my TPM evaluation. Yes, My Tyler Perry Movie evaluation is a real thing and can easily be practiced by all of you guys at home. First I look at the calendar because I always feel that these Madea films are released about once a year. Then I take a look at the cast list and see who Tyler has recruited for the latest movie and Madea’s Christmas includes Kathy Najimy (Kim), Chad Michael Murray (Tanner), Anna Maria Horsford, and Larry The Cable Guy. Hmmm. Ok, how about that synopsis?

Madea gets coaxed into helping a friend pay her daughter a surprise visit in the country for Christmas, but the biggest surprise is what they’ll find when they arrive. As the small, rural town prepares for its annual Christmas Jubilee, new secrets are revealed and old relationships are tested while Madea dishes her own brand of Christmas Spirit to all.

At this point it’s pretty easy to decide whether or not the movie has my curiosity or my interest. A trailer helps, but At this point the test is over! Madea’s Christmas is releasing December 13th!
