‘Carrie’ pushed back from March to October

— Posted by Ryan

After watching “Let Me In,” the American remake of “Let The Right One In,” I was waiting for Chloe Moretz’s next dark role. When I heard she had the lead role in the upcoming “Carrie” remake, I was more than excited to see the film. Now it looks like the original release date in March has been pushed all the way back to October.

Well, I wish I could say this was a huge surprise, but it actually makes a lot of sense. Originally slated to open in March, the CARRIE remake is now being bumped to October, which steers it clear of another remake that’s still on course to open dangerously close, that being the EVIL DEAD remake.

A horror movie being pushed to October…can’t say that I’m surprised. A release during the month of Halloween probably means a bigger opening weekend due to the fact that most people will be in the horror mood during the month of Halloween. I’ll admit that I am disappointed that I have to wait that much longer to see the film, but it’s probably a smart move.

First and foremost, Ryan Brown is a fan. He has been an avid fan of both the theater and cinema since an early age and his passion for both has been continually growing ever since. When dissecting a film, he focuses on all elements of film-making including some fan/cult factors. He believes that character development is the foundation of a good film and usually starts his analysis of a film from there moving forward. His writing style may be influenced by his background of narrative and argumentative studies in the subject, but he tends to enjoy a more conversational style to better interact with the readers, unlike some other pretentious and pompous writers.
