Trailer: Guy Pearce waving gun and blowing stuff up while breaking into Space Prison in ‘Lockout’, need I say more?

I stumbled over this trailer not too long ago for this upcoming film starring Guy Pearce. The movie flew under my radar for the most part until I took a look at this trailer. After viewing I began kicking myself, repeatedly, and you will too if you don’t watch.

A tad cliche? Sure. There’s more than a few corny one liners like “There’s only one man who can get the job done”, and uses a recycled setup like “saving the presidents daughter”. That I can get over but the killer cliche found is found in the idea of a group of convicts agreeing to follow a single guys orders simply because he released them out of confinement. I feel like I’ve seen this movie a million times… but this time it has Guy Pearce IN SPACE as the badass putting them in line and doing the saving instead of every other action hero. I’m sold. Damn, I’m easy…

It’s cliche, “only one man, but he’s a loose canon”…and the voice over at the beginning seems like it belongs to a Steven Segal movie. Looks like alot of fun though.

Was it just me or is Guy completely doing a Hugh Jackman impression?
