The Movie Blog’s new commenting system

Posted by on 05. 04. 2012in News Chat

Today marks a new day as we are finally doing away with our old archaic system that we optimistically called a ‘commenting system’. Today marks the first day of us using the Livefyre commenting system which we’re sure everyone will agree is a marked improvement over our efforts in the past. The new system will offer real time comments and the ability to post with an assortment of options including your pre-existing Facebook, Google, Twitter, Linkedin, and Open ID credentials. Not all of the old comments made the transition to this new platform but rather than continuing to drag our feet and preventing you from expressing your opinion we made the decision to start fresh.

A few benefits of the new system are:

  1. Lightning fast and no longer allows you time to fix a sandwich while you wait for your comment to post
  2. The ability to “follow” nestled conversations
  3. Multitude of login options
  4. The ability to share your comments on your social networks
  5. Flag comments as inappropriate rather than what was typically known as “yelling at that guy”
  6. The ability to adjust your own personal settings

We’re still ironing out some kinks and we’ll be eliminating the secondary facebook comments system so be sure try it out and let us know what you think of the new system below.
