The ‘Dumb and Dumber’ sequel begins filming in September

Posted by on 02. 04. 2012in Hot Popcorn, News Chat

We first heard about the sequel to the first Dumb and Dumber film a little over a year ago. If memory serves me right the idea was to give us an update as to what Harry and Lloyd were up to over the past 20yrs and give us a look into their lives in todays world. Say what you want about Carrey’s career today I still keep my eyes open for reruns of this film and think it was one of the funnier Farrelly bros films in the 90s. Reports are that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are both interested in returning to the franchise and participating in the film which is one of the more blatantly obvious improvements over the derided and not often mentioned sequel that was produced without either of their input or even the Farrelly Bros.

Dumb and no fun

The Farrelly are out promoting ‘The Three Stooges’ and were kind enough to update fans on the progress toward production over the past year with the following:

“We’re getting set to shoot ‘Dumb and Dumber 2′ in September. It’s the first sequel we’ve ever done and we’ve got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back.”

I’m completely fine with this news and truly think they have no place to go but ‘up’ with this franchise. Do these guys still have what it takes to produce the good with regard to humor? Not sure as I’m not a fan of what I’ve seen from this news Stooges movies but I do know that they are talented guys and anything is possible. Right now I’ll try to maintain the optimism and keep an eye out for any more interesting news regarding this project. I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted…
