Official Synopsis, new Trailer, and more for the Dark Knight Rises

— Posted by Anthony

For a very long time I’ve been running with a theory in my head regarding the plot of the Dark Knight Rises. Why? Because they haven’t been very forthright with information and I am a master detective. There are clues throughout the marketing and in the films prior as to what will take place in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises but today we get something a little extra. We get more. We get a fairly revealing trailer and, finally, an official synopsis for the film.

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

Clarification. They didn’t need to do this. The ticket sales for this film are guaranteed with most of the speculation surrounding the film not being about whether it’ll make money and be profitable but rather will it make as much money as the Avengers. I’m interested in the bit of story reveal that they’ve released and they managed to raise my curiousity about Bruce’s self-imposed exile. Somehow some way they’ve managed to grab my attention in the heat of Spidey fever. Amazing.

Still hate the costume treatment, but I think I'll enjoy this film anyway.
