Is Rihanna being added to the cast of Fast and Furious 6?

The Fast and Furious franchise isn’t a series of films you watch to see people flex their acting muscle. No, this series is high octane pure adrenaline where people put the pedal to the metal and zoom off in fast and sometimes luxurious vehicles. It’s all about the style, not the substance. To further push that way of thinking the rumor spreading now is that Rihanna is the newest addition to the franchise in a villainous role.

‘Rihanna impressed with her acting debut in Battleship. Writers think she’ll be perfect for the role. Her character has plenty of bite and doesn’t take any prisoners — just like her in real life.’

‘It’s a step up the ladder for her and could lead to bigger action roles.’

I don’t like when musicians cross into acting. It doesn’t bear great fruit. I just don’t know what to think about this. I haven’t seen an official confirmation of the news that would solidify a binding contract in place so I’m gonna take this news with a grain of salt and see how things develop from here. The film is expected to release in theaters in May 2013. We’ll see….
