I don’t like this new ‘Machete Kills’ poster

— Posted by Anthony

After catching ‘Machete’ on cable recently I’m all about the Machete revolution. Something this guy and his blade changes life in America for all the less fortunate… or something like that. But Robert Rodriguez is hard at work on filming some movies this summer and has released a teaser poster for Machete Kills for us.

Too bland. It’s a promo poster so I shouldn’t expect too much but at least the Sin City poster had Frank Miller art to rely on. Machete isn’t that fortunate but I shouldnt get my standards too high for a promo poster, should I? At least it’ll make a great banner to use with future coverage on this film. Look forward to seeing that image over all ‘Machete Kills’ coverage moving forward folks! That’s what it’s good for… Well, that and confirming the involvement of Mel Gibson. That’s sorta kinda news.

Machete was an instance of a movie that was great for a fake trailer, but not so much when put to the length of a full cinema experience. It was at best worth a passing chuckle. A sequel would be like trying to get blood from a stone; there is not really much to do with this movie. The poster kind of shows how little is actually there creatively. At the very least, the trailer for this new film will look very nice as did the trailer for the first one.
