2 new ‘Machete Kills’ character posters

— Posted by The "Superior" Anthony

I like Machete Kills. It’s not easy to admit that because the film is extremely reliant on the niche of being “so bad it’s good” form of film-making and is a tongue-in-cheek look at the archetypes of violent anti-heroes of past. It’s so gratuitous and over the top with it’s delivery that the film is borderline obnoxious and requires one to check logical thinking at the door when watching but that’s also an aspect of its charm. Two new posters have been released in promotion of Robert Rodriguez’s second outing with Danny Trejo as ‘Machete’ and they show off the suspected antagonists of the film.

I’m excited to see where this is going. This particular film franchise has a good deal of potential to be either extremely pleasing or extremely dissapointing depending on whether or not they can maintain the tone, and momentum, that was started in the prior film which is completely reliant on the story rather than the actors/actresses that make appearances within the films. I hope to see a violent and visceral Machete in the film and look forward to seeing the remaining character posters. The film isn’t expected to hit theaters until 2013 so there’s plenty of time for Machete to sharpen his blade before his release next year. That’s all for now…

"To those of you who know me: you will be aware by now that my ambition is unlimited. You know that I will settle for nothing short of greatness, or I will die trying. To those of you who do not yet know me: allow me to introduce myself. My name is Peter Weyland, and if you'll indulge me, I'd like to change the world."

—Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland from Prometheus, 2012
