Roberty Downey Jr. is still doing promotional rounds for Sherlock Holmes 2 and while at the Brazilian premiere he was quizzed on a few other projects he’s involved with and, of course, someone brought up Iron Man 3.

hit the 50 second mark to hear about Iron Man

I think that we have an opportunity with the third Iron Man to make the best of the three, and maybe one of the better superhero movies that’s ever been made. But I think we have to remember what made the first one good. It was very character-driven. It was very odd. It was kind of outrageous. And so I think we have to have the courage to trust that the audience is really kind of cool, and smart” he says

I’m certainly ‘down’ for a better Iron Man movie. Not that I have a lot of complaints about the last 2 films, but I like the “aim for the moon and settle for the sky” way of thinking so this sounds good to me. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he and Shane Black have in store for Tony Stark’s first foray post-Avengers and how it will build on the momentum set by the other Marvel films. Don’t forget, this one will help start the process for the lead up to Avengers 2!

Dope. This is the first thought in my mind when I heard this news. This movie will be used as a segway for an Avengers 2 movie. All that is fine with me as long as Robert Downy Jr. is playing the dry and witty Tony Stark, but until then we should enjoy him as the encouragable Sherlock Holmes.
