This American Long weekend, we saw the battle of the sequels, Hangover 2 and Kungfu Panda 2. Now while I will always remember the squash, and never underestimate the power of a family friendly film… Hangover 2 nearly DOUBLED the boxoffice of Kung Fu Panda (see how I dodged a martial arts reference there?)

Boxoffice Mojo reports:

The Hangover Part II - $86,035,000 - Opening
Kung Fu Panda 2 - $47,835,000 - Opening
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - $39,592,000 - 2wks
Bridesmaids - $16,550,000 - 3wks
Thor - $9,400,000 - 4wks

Pretty solid Top 5 there. Pirates dropped to third with a little less than half the boxoffice of its impressive $90million opening.

Round it out with Bridesmaids and Thor and thats a great variety of choices heading out to the theaters!
