Weekend Boxoffice Report July 8th-10th

— Posted by Rodney

This week’s boxoffice shows Transformers holding on to its top spot with a healthy lead on new comers Horrible Bosses and Zookeeper.

Boxoffice Mojo has the numbers:

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - $47,025,000 - 2wks
Horrible Bosses - $28,110,000 - Opening
Zookeeper - $21,000,000 - Opening
Cars 2 - $15,209,000 - 3wks
Bad Teacher - $9,000,000 - 3wks

Transformers: Dark of the Moon dominated the boxoffice once again this week with another $47m pushing its gross to $261m in just two weeks. I think the film deserves this as for the most part this was the kind of serious film we would have liked to have seen in the first two chapters. If they could just get rid of the “comic relief” imagine how well the first two might have done?

Zookeeper, I didn’t have a lot of faith in, however it respectably took in $21m but that wont put much of a dent in the reported $80million budget. Ouch. Kevin James is awesome, but I just don’t see him as a leading man. Certainly not one that would carry a $80m film.

Horrible Bosses however suffers only from competition. This might very well be the funniest movie I have seen in a long time.

What did you see this weekend??

Gonna see Horrible Bosses tomorow night with wife

Jason Sedakis has been rockin’ those comedies of late. Hall Pass was funny too.
looks like the little guy in horrible bosses will steal the show though
