Watch the trailer for Pixar’s Brave
— Posted by Anthony
This is a bit of a surprise. Actually, I’m very very surprised as there seems to be a teaser trailer discovered for Pixars’ movie Brave. I found a pretty clear You Tube copy and have embedded on the full page. Via: /Film Director Mark Andrews chimed in over the weekend with the following:
And for those who missed the official synopsis:
Again, I’m pretty dang surprised that this is even being promoted as Pixar still has lots of time before this movie meets its June 2012 release date but went ahead and took the opportunity to play this before Cars 2 over the weekend. The trailer itself shows us a gorgeously detailed forest with some Stonehenge like rocks and animals. They even show those glowing blue thingies that we saw in the poster and it makes a noise! I guess they’re alive. I’m really digging the lush forest and the obvious technological advancements that Pixar has been making in animation. Did you see Merida’s hair? Poor girl is suffering from some seriously super split-ends, but man is that hair bouncy. Love it. |

This looks intriguing. I have a feeling it will be one of their best in a long time.
Am I the only person who is thoroughly unimpressed with their character design? I don't know, after finally sitting down and watching the Toy Story Trilogy in one swoop and realizing the brilliance and the strength of those movies, and being mildly disappointed with Cars, I'm not exactly excited for this movie. The environments look nice, but I'm a little disappointed with them a) releasing a trailer that really tells me nothing about the movie, b) making such a flat-looking character as opposed to their backgrounds, and c) venturing into such an over-told tale of rebellious-princess-turned-archer/soldier/other down-and-dirty job. I suppose they have a lot of time between now and release, but I really hope something about this is fresh because animated movies have been lacking lately.
They probably showed this so soon to try and get people to forget about Cars 2!
This is a pixar i definitely eager to see (unlike the recently outing Cars2). Kinda unintentionally fun thought occuring after seeing the main heroines, there is certain actress/haute couture model that looks dead ringer to Merida. Her name is Lily Cole, last seen in The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus (just google her for the unfamiliar). Interesting if somehow someone decide to turn it to live action...
Looks really nice.
Whoa, this just hit the top of my Must See list for 2012
I second that!
