Robin Williams tells the Tale of Zelda

— Posted by Rodney

This isn’t entirely a movie bit, but I am a big geek. I wear that proudly. And there are some personalities in Hollywood that might seem like they are eccentric but we still see them as normal, then we find out they are just big geeks like us.

Take Robin Williams. An odd duck for sure. This guy has never been “normal” but I didn’t know he was a Zelda fan. Check out this Zelda commercial he did for the remaster of Ocarina of Time for the 3DS.

I love the degree of geek Robin Williams wears on his sleeve. He actually did name his daughter Zelda after the popular Nintendo franchise character.

If they ever did a live action Zelda film, I hope that Robin Williams is somehow involved.

Very awesome, very sweet ad. I love Robin Williams. Didn’t know he was such a Zelda fan though, nor that his daughter was named after Zelda. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knows the creater of Zelda personally.

But I did know he’s a big fan of the WarCraft series, both the old RTS series and World of Warcraft. He also loves anime. Ghost in the Shell is one of his all time favs.

I too would love to see him more involved with a project that pertains to one of his geeky loves.

“Ocarina of Time” and “A Link To The Past” will forever be the best Zelda games to me! I’d play them again if I could, but I wanna play them again on my big 52″ LCD tv, not on a little handheld.

Both Ocarina of Time and A Link To The Past are availible for download in the Wii virtual shop. Can play them all you want on your big TV threw it. ;D
