There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the Mortal Kombat web series in hopes that they can help revitalize the franchise after a successful viral video featuring the talents of Michael Jai White as Jax and Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade. Today we get our first look at the further developments of the upcoming series and an appearance of Scorpion and his harpoon.

I like that they’re using the classic ninja look for Scorpion as opposed to some of his armor-like redesigns that were used in the more recent videogames. There’s not much to go on in these photos but something about that harpoon just gives me a feeling of relief.
