Miss USA has her Geek Status Challenged

— Posted by Rodney

Just recently, Alyssa Campanella - newly crowned Miss USA shocked the world admitting that she is a big geek.

Now for some reason it was too hard for people to believe that a beauty queen could possibly be a “REAL” geek and the internet was all enraged that this girl would tarnish the repuatation of real geeks everywhere with this obvious false claim.

Well in her promotional tour in a video link with Access Hollywood they decided to challenge her unprepared with a Star Wars quiz. Let’s see how she does!

No hesitation. She answers each of these questions as any real Star Wars geek would, even admitting how the questions are not that challenging, offering more tricky questions instead.

I was actually surprised that so many geeks online took offfense that an attractive person could be a geek and instantly assumed that it wasn’t possible.

I think that offends me more as a geek that the geeks couldn’t grasp this.

Geeks don’t rule the world. The rich rule the world, everybody else is just living in it, Geeks included. In regards to Miss USA’s Geek status. Knowing that much about Star Wars makes her a Geek in my book. Hell! I love comic books, video games, sci fi and fantasy with a passion. But will you every see me dress up like Darth Vader or go to a comic shop to play D&D…No. I tried D&D years ago and found it boring and although I love Star Wars, dressing up like the characters just isn’t me. My point being is Geeks come in all shapes and sizes. We should all except each other without bias.
