Kiefer says ’24’ in 2012

24 is a movie that I’ve been cautiously optimistic about since the idea was announced shortly after the show ended. It’s been a while since that time with most assuming that the movie tripped and fell into production hell. Seems that things may be further from the truth then I assumed as Kiefer apparently says otherwise!

Kiefer Sutherland, on Monday’s “The View” to promote his current Broadway production of “That Championship Season,” told the ladies a Jack Bauer “24” movie will be out in 2012.

He confirmed the involvement of producer-director Tony Scott (who had nothing to do with the TV version of “24”) and noted that portions of the script by Scott’s fellow “24” newcomer (and “Shattered Glass” writer-director) Billy Ray will survive.

Sounds like an awkward place to announce a movie project like ’24’, but I find the news exciting regardless of venue. I don’t know how this movie is going to turn out but it has a home nestled in the lower echelons of my ‘radar’.
