Donald Sutherland joins The Hunger Games

— Posted by Rodney

The latest Hunger Games casting has the manipulative President of the Capitol and overseer of the brutal games. Donald Sutherland will play President Snow.

Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES are pleased to announce that Donald Sutherland has been cast in the role of President Snow in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel.

President Snow has been the autocratic ruler of Panem and its contained districts for some 25 years at the outset of the story. With a snake-like appearance, he is cruel and ruthless in his intimidation and control tactics.

This is a powerful looming role. He is the motivation behind everything that happens to the main character as a battle of wills between he and Katniss.

Sutherland is intimidating, and evil is an easy buy in from him.

Every casting announcement with the exception of Lenny Kravitz makes me excited for this movie. Well done so far.
