Disney wants more Tim and Tom

Tim Allen and Tom Hanks have been hot commodities for decades now and their vocal pairings have generated almost 2 billion dollars worldwide for the Toy Story franchise. Today brings news that although we may not be treated to another Toy Story film, we may still get more Tom and Tim.

After Toy Story 3 cracked the billion dollar worldwide gross mark and got a Best Picture nomination for Disney, I’m told the studio is making moves to pair stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen in Jungle Cruise, the live action film inspired by the venerable Magic Kingdom theme park ride. The studio has hired Roger S.H. Schulman to write a script that’s being produced by Mandeville’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, who themselves are coming off a Best Picture nomination for The Fighter.

I like these guys and it’s been a while since I’ve seen Tim the Toolman Taylor Allen in the limelight for his live action work so I’m definitely open to hearing more details about the flick. Disney seems to have an interest in turning a lot of their theme park attractions into films lately, and I can’t help but wonder if this has anything to do with what Favreau is working on.

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are about as big as it gets. Even though they are both getting a little long in the tooth, I think a live action project starring both of them would be box office mojo.

How about this: make two separate Pixar Animated films; one with Woody, but as a real cowboy. Make it so he is the real live woody from wish the toy was based on, and then do the same with Buzz. That way you stay away from the original stories and make two new franchises.

They already made a Buzz Lightyear TV show that was supposed to be the show Buzz’s toy is made from.

That Buzz t.v. show was pretty good, It followed the cartoon movie released before. my son wathed it for awhile, but when they got “Putty” from Seinfeld to voice Buzz it lost its appeal.

I’d love to see a Pixar version of it though.(CGI)
LOVE TO SEE ANOTHER BUZZ VS ZURG MATCH-UP!

Makes good business sense, plus they do have really good charisma together.

I have a better Idea, they should make two separate Pixar Animated films; one with Woody, but as a real cowboy. Make it so he is the real live woody from wish the toy was based on, and then do the same with Buzz. That way you stay away from the original stories and make other franchises.

Pixar won’t go for a Toy Story: Origins thing like X-Men. They’re smarter than that.

Tim Had Christmas with the Kranks a couple of yrs back (funny film)
and recently one called the 6-7 wifes of whatchamicallit.

I like the 2 together as well.

Rickey Gervanis had a funny intro for them at the Emmy awards show last month that I thought was great.
