Deadpool won’t die

![]() Source: Cinemablend via: Empire “Those two universes are completely different. Superhero movies are so pervasive in pop culture, I don’t look at the as superhero roles as much as just roles. They’re such different people. Deadpool is about a guy in a highly militarized shame spiral, Green Lantern is more universally themed” I saw the merc with the mouth strolling his way into production hell and began to let the idea go as Ryan Reynolds began committing to more and more projects not named Deadpool. Apparently he’s noticed that there’s a bit of skepticism and decided to re-assure fans that he still has the character in mind and things might turn around. Deadpool is a tough character to sell and the longer things play out the more I question if Ryan Reynolds will stay committed to this role as he fills his schedule with other projects. It’s tough because Reynolds seems to be the driving force but he’s also the crutch at the moment as most of the initial interest for the studios to even make this movie was squarely in the performance of Reynolds during X-Men Origins. The article mentioned that a writer is being commissioned for Green Lantern 2 but I still hope we get to see the movie happen sooner rather then later. I’ll keep an eye out for more details.
