More Pirates

My my, who saw this coming? There’s about a billion reasons, according to the worldwide box office stats, as to why they should continue churning these out and it looks like that’s might just be more than enough. Today we learned that the 5th film in the Pirates franchise is being planned, and actor Johnny Depp is close to signing on for more swashbuckling.

Johnny Depp is close to a deal to sign on for a fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie just as the fourth film passes the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box-office reports Reuters. Back in May it was revealed a script for a fifth film was in the works and producer Jerry Bruckheimer said he had no plans to proceed without Depp. At the time Depp said he’d be up for playing Captain Jack Sparrow again, but seemed interested in taking a break for a little while

Great news for those of us who are still enjoying this series. I’ve yet to watch the 4th film in the franchise due to lack of motivation and mixed reviews, and I am eagerly awaiting the home release to see if that omission is warrented. Either way, I’m still somehow somewhat excited about the idea of Depp reprising this role. Strange, I know.

i think johnny depp should be the leading role for transformers 4 instead of statham. depp can deliver a dark and gritty film also and in addition add some humor that the three transformers films lacked and condemned by many critics. i hope shia atleast makes a cameo and if bay doesn’t return, hopefully they can get cameron to film the 4th one.

Depp needs to get back to making smaller films now.

Just made the “Rum Diary”..if you’d call that a small movie. Based on the novel by Hunter Thompson.
