RUMOR: Kate Beckinsale in Total Recall remake?

I’m shocked that it’s taken this long for this casting news to make the rounds but today we are learning that Kate Beckinsale has been offered a lead role opposite Colin Farrell in the film.

Source: Deadline

I’m told she’s been offered to play Lori, who was portrayed in the 1990 Paul Verhoeven-directed actioner by Sharon Stone…
…Beckinsale wasn’t among the names most often mentioned among actresses who read for Lori. But she certainly has a track record with the film’s director, Len Wiseman. They’re married, and before that, worked together on the Underworld films.

See that last line? That’s why I’m surprised it took this long for the casting news to begin circulating. Some directors have a thing with casting their partners in their films. Although I really don’t mind the casting possibility as I think, under the right circumstances, she’s pretty enjoyable to watch. I’m beginning to accept that this movie will be re-used… err.. remade and am starting to really look forward to this as I think that it still has a lot of potential to be a really fun popcorn flick. Looking forward to the rest of the casting news and seeing this one go into full production.
