New Mortal Kombat photo’s

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the Mortal Kombat web series in hopes that they can help revitalize the franchise after a successful viral video featuring the talents of Michael Jai White as Jax and Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade. Today we get our first look at the further developments of the upcoming series and an appearance of Scorpion and his harpoon.

I like that they’re using the classic ninja look for Scorpion as opposed to some of his armor-like redesigns that were used in the more recent videogames. There’s not much to go on in these photos but something about that harpoon just gives me a feeling of relief.

looks very similar to the original, which isn’t a bad thing. The original was one of the first video game movies that was pretty good. The music was so damn loud though. “MORTAL COMBAT!!!!” at the end of the movie people were walking by the theater asking what’s going on in there.It was a fun experience though.
the spear actually just looks like a kunai knife with a rope or cable attached. it’s a nice classic ninja touch.
