Tron 3 Greenlight Rumoured

While Disney is already planning a Tron animated TV series, it seems they are not done with it on the big screen just yet. Only edging out its budget it seemed doubtful they would invest in another chapter, but rumour has it that’s exactly what they are going to do.
Screen Rant shares:
News about the animated TRON TV series was released last month and now reports are coming in that the Mouse House will greenlight a followup to TRON: Legacy soon, thus ensuring that the cyber world adventure franchise will continue to live on even longer.
I suspect that Disney is looking big picture here as the $170m production budget plus marketing is likely to sit comfortably at the “break even” point of the $300million take of the film.
It hardly screams for a sequel (and the plot will have to work) but with all the merchandising, soundtrack and potential DVD sales, I bet they are quite pleased with the money Tron is making them as a whole - not just boxoffice.
And another film will just perpetuate that even more. If there is one thing the House of Mouse does well, it is selling.
Do you see room for a sequel? Whta would make them have to re-enter the digital world.
“Sam, your dad paged me again from the arcade. You still have your Identity Disk?”
Better story with less holes, more Daft Punk, building up Cillian Murphy’s character as a main bad guy, more Daft Punk, and here’s a novel idea - HAVE TRON BE TRON, and please let him be in more than just 10 minutes of the movie; his name IS part of the title. Lastly, find a way to work the Tron world in with the Internet.
Girl(hot) helps Sam find a way to get Dad back safe and sound.
that and alot of lights :)
even though there’s only one supposedly left, they could do anything with the ISO’s. Especially since one of them is on the outside.
I think it will be about Ed Dillinger’s son is going to findout about the Tron world and want to take over the world with it. Lets hope they have a more solid story for the 3rd film! But I say go for it!!!
There’s a lot of room for to take any potential storyline: a sequel could focus on them attempting to rebuild or reshape the grid after the events of the previous film.
I quite enjoyed Tron Legacy, despite its weak story.
Yes I just wish for a better storyline, without getting bogged down with introspection. Make it a grand adventure and keep the story simple and on point. I like the idea of Dillinger’s son playing the principle bad guy and another MCP type of digital computer enemy. Also make it more relevent to todays technology, especially the internet and use current technical jargon as it is not alien to most people now as it was in 1982. More battles with disks and light cycles.
One thing I didnt get is how Quorra managed to survive in the real world, after all she is still just a program.
