Gemma’s Gonna Beat Up Wicked Witches

— Posted by Darren

You have to… you just got to… love the title Hansel & Gretel : Witch Hunters. What is also to be liked is that Gemma Arterton (Clash Of The Titans) has apparently signed on for the lead role. She’s Gretel to Jeremy Renner’s Hansel.

Before you say ‘Aren’t they a bit old to escape from he Gingerbread House of Doom’ here’s what Geek Tyrant reports:

Actress Gemma Arterton has landed the lead feamle role in a new film that reimagines the classic tale in:Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”. It explores what happened to Hansel and Gretel 15 years after the gingerbread house incident. They have become bounty hunters that specialize in tracking down and killing witches! This is the film being developed at Paramount Pictures by Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola

Now, I know a lot of folks love this rising actress. In my book, she’s attractive and talented, but really hasn’t had any roles to really stand out and shine. But I wonder if her role in ‘Prince Of Persia’ had some influence, where she actually gets to be part of the action. When I first read this, I was nodding my head, yes, yes, YES!

And then the kick in he shins. And that really hurt like hell. What’s wrong? Well, it’s not the ‘Dead Snow’ director - but who helped push ‘Witch Hunters’ into production.

That’s Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.
Ouch.

And this thing was sounding really neat. Hopefully, it will only be behind the scenes, like as…um…like Ben Stiller co-producing ‘The Ruins’, yeah, something like that…and…

Well, okay, should we have cause for alarm here or not?
