Oz The Great and Powerful gets a Pulitzer Rewrite

If you are going to get a playwright to hit up your script for your prequel to one of the most beloved films of all time, you might as well pick one with a Pulizer on her his shelf. And David Lindsay-Abaire is just one of those guys.

Dark Horizons

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire has been hired to rewrite “Oz: The Great and Powerful” at Disney Pictures according to Deadline New York.

Though not officially attached and having previously turned down the part, Robert Downey Jr. is still looking likely to star in the film which follows how a circus wrangler gets mysteriously transported to the Land of Oz and became the eponymous ‘Wizard’, ruler of the Emerald City.

I like the idea of revisiting Oz, but also having a story around the man who became Oz.

And make Robert Downey Jr the man who becomes Oz and I am sold.
