Megan Fox Fired From Transformers 3? Arterton to Replace?

It seems all the latest buzz is going around that despite fan pictures of Megan Fox on set near the Bumblebee Camero, she will NOT be optioned for the third Transformers film, and instead she will be written out of the script and Sam will be introduced to a new love interest.

Deadline Hollywood calls dibs on the Exclusive:

I’ve just learned that Paramount won’t be picking up Megan Fox’s option on Transformers 3 — and that it was “ultimately” director Michael Bay’s decision.

Right now Bay and writer Ehren Kruger et al are finishing up the script for the threequel and “giving Shia a new love interest makes more sense for the story,” an insider tells me. Bay will start casting immediately for the new female co-star.

And while I do enjoy staring at Megan Fox, and her sweaty “bend over the car engine” pose will forever be my Bo Derek Perfect Ten moment, I dont know that I will miss her in Transformers.

And I will miss her even less if the following news proves to be true. Gemma Arterton is in last minute negotiations to play the new love interest! The Wrapclaims insider information:

“Prince of Persia” star Gemma Arterton is the front-runner to replace Megan Fox in “Transformers 3,” TheWrap has learned.

An individual close to the casting process says the actress has already had discussions with Bay about the coveted role.

Now if you have been reading this blog, you will know that I have a massive celebrity crush on Gemma, having followed her career since the first St Trinians film (which predates her big Hollywood boom) and I could easily imagine her trumping Fox as the new love interest.

At least she would prove to be more interesting.

AICN is reporting a gaggle of pretty girls grasping for the gig too. Names mentioned include Zoe Saldana, Hayden Panetierre, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Camilla Belle, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Ashley Greene, Julianne Hough, Jessica Lowndes, and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

All attractive girls, but again it would depend on the role and chemistry with LaBoeuf. Gemma can do no wrong in my eyes and I think she is hotter than any of the mentioned possible bidders.

    I liked Megan Fox she has gorgeous eyes and great presence, perhaps she will go on to more lead roles now because of the exposure. She is hot!

      I cant argue with the things you like about her, but she’s only really qualified to star in a poster. Shes all kinds of hot, but seriously can’t act.

      She’s been given a shot at lead and supporting roles because of her fame, but I dont see a lot of lead roles for her after those have run their course.

      Why so violent?

      They will likely just say that Mikaela and Sam broke up. Move on with the story.

      Their relationship took up as much screen time as it needs to, and now with a new girl they can have the light romantic discovery subplot again. Sam would either have more drama with Mikaela, or it would be boring. So they are moving forward.

      Bee doesn’t need to step on anyone.

        They shouyld just get rid of the love interest all together. Have Mekela get killed in an explosion(off screen), and give Sam a reason for vengeance against the Decepticons. You know, give it a more darker feel.

    Not crazy about Fox as an actress, but really, she lucked out. That last one was just painful.

    I say focus the film on the Transformers and not on Shia and lose the whole “love interest” angle. But it doesn’t really matter, I didn’t like the first one, didn’t see the second one, won’t see the third one.

    Okay, I’m going to watch Speed Racer now…

    You’re all worried about the actress choice, how about we worry about the story. How exactly do you write her out of the script?

    Sam: Gee, I know your way too good looking for me, and we saved the world anf fought off Megatron together twice, and managed to do it without dying, but uhh, well I think we should see other people no hard feelings right?

    Mikaila: Oh yeah, that’s cool, say goodbye to Bumblebee for me, I’ll just go back to being the lowly mechanic who gets on by the football guys

    Sam: Sounds great

    New Chick: Oh hey there, nice car, want to date?

    Sam: Sure, this plot is great!

    you are all complaining about her acting .. but seriously what do i need acting for in a film like transformers? the film is just eyecandy and if she is nothing more.. well i would say they make an excellent couple

    I recently saw that Mila Kunis is now in the list of actresses testing there hands with Transformers new female love interest.

    Mila Kunis is hands down the best name i’ve seen so far. She brings every bit of sex appeal Megan brought(an more) + Acting ability.

    I so hope Mila gets the role.
