Dreamworks and Spielberg want Halo Rights

Looks like that rumour that Dreamworks was pushing for the rights to Halo are not just true, but Dreamworks has Steven Spielberg on deck to direct it.

Get the Big Picture says:

Now, it seems this thing is really gaining some steam as NY Magazine reports that Dreamworks AND Steven Spielberg are negotiating to obtain the rights.

Now this is a move that I think that Microsoft will be able to get behind.

Who wouldn’t get behind Steven Spielberg and Halo. This has to make Microsoft happy that Dreamworks AND Spielberg are involved instead of Peter Jackson and some unknown he says is really good (Blomkamp turned out to be decent, but Microsoft didn’t know that)

Furthermore, to avoid any legal issues with Bungie, Spielberg is intending to adapt the Novels, and not the video game storyline.

Word is, there will also be no swinging monkey chase scenes.
