Since Avatar put James Cameron back to work it seems he has his hands deep in a million projects. The remake of the classic Fantastic Voyage is one he is only Producing, but now it seems that Laeta Kalogridis has been tagged in on the project to rewrite the script.
Ramascreen says:
Laeta Kalogridis, has been hired to rewrite FANTASTIC VOYAGE script, previous attempts were from scribes Shane Salerno, Cormac and Marianne Wibberly.
The original 1966 FANTASTIC VOYAGE starred Raquel Welch, the story was about “a diplomat who is nearly assassinated. In order to save him, a submarine is shrunken to microscopic size and injected into his blood stream with a small crew. Problems arise almost as soon as they enter the bloodstream.”
Kalogridis helped Cameron write Avatar and got an Executive Producer credit for her time, but this time Cameron is producing.
This concept was loosely remade into a Martin Short comedy in the 80s called Inner Space.
Dennis Quaid and Martin Short already re-made this one (kinda) to pretty good results.
Innerspace or Innerscope or somethin’
anyone remember that one?
You might want to read to the end of the post.
Just sayin.
DOH!
Anyone remember the cartoon?
That poster is very pretty, too. A warm, pink tunnel. Hey, wait a minute.
