Hilary Duff rumoured for Spider-Man

Thanks to a brief mention from the mouth of Mike Comrie, who happens to be married to Hilary Duff, there is a rumour buzzing the towers of the internet suggesting that Hilary is being considered for the role of the love interest in the Spider-Man reboot.

Dark Horizons shares:

Comrie is the husband of actress Hilary Duff and the interviewer for The Globe and Mail visited their house and drops the comment that “a script marked “Spider-Man” sits on the table with lines for a character simply called “girl” highlighted in yellow”.

Duff was not on the propsed list of love interests for Peter Parker, but we are still in the dark as to who she might be playing.

Duff would make a pretty good Gwen Stacey if they go that route, but Hilary seems to be maturing and wanting to get away from teen roles. But the lure of playing in a Spider-Man film might have her reconsidering. Still these castings seem to suggest he wont be as young as they are announcing the reboot will take place in. Looks to me like they are settling in for a late highschool/college age with these rumoured choices.

Still all makes it difficult to form an opinion when we still don’t know who this “Girl” is that will be Peter’s love interest. Whether I would want to see Duff in the role really depends on the role.

I don;t mind her…she is hot and has been acting for a long time compared to some.

I would love this. I grew up with Hilary and I do think she’s a decent actress. She’s amazing in War, Inc. and she turned out a pretty decent performance in Greta. I’ll have my fingers crossed.
