The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Review

Thanks for checking out our The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Review

Genre: Fantasy/Romance/Thriller
Directed by: David Slade
Staring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli
Released: 30 June 2010

THE GENERAL IDEA

As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob - knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?

THE GOOD

Right of the bat, I’ll say this: Eclipse is the best entry of the Twilight franchise so far. Director David Slade somehow manages to make Eclipse almost a decent, “ok” film. He delivers by stirring us away from the boring/draggin’ Edward/Bella stare/love fest and adding a much needed injection of vampire/werewolve action. I also noted that this entry, in deed, was more fun and was a bit more relaxed; it wasn’t as lazy as the first one, or as stiff as the second one. Eclipse seemed to be aware of some of it’s silly content. It even made fun of itself in some spots. I really enjoyed this.

The action was more frequent and much better. In this one we get chases in the forest, vampires fighting amongst themselves, and of course, werewolves fighting vampires. For the guys, this will be a most welcomed addition. The effects look better than in previous films. The climax battle was pretty cool. I was looking forward to watching vampires and werewolves battle it out in this one, and I was not disappointed. Although some of the shots were cutting too fast, I enjoyed it.

Something else I really liked in this one was how some of the supporting cast was given some time to shine. With every film, I find myself really enjoying the Cullen family interactions. I really enjoy when they are given screen time. This time around, the movie includes some most welcomed flashbacks sequences, were some of the Cullen members explain how they became vampires. Here’s were Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed shine. These scenes worked for me.

THE BAD

Although it’s the best one so far and it’s a vast improvement for the franchise, Eclipse is still a pretty bad film. Once again the plot is just too stupid, and the acting is really underwhelming. I still don’t understand how these movies, that make millions of dollars and have a great following, are not done with a better effort. The should take their time, and deliver a film that fans really deserve. They keep making them quickly and cheap. Fans deserve better.

What can I tell you about the acting? Everyone seems more relaxed and having fun, but in the end, the acting is still pretty bad. Add to that a dialogue that is mostly stale and ridicioulous. Kristen Stewart, at last, smiles a couple of times. Robert Pattinson, looks more relaxed in his vampire makeup. And, Taylor Lautner is shirtless almost the whole movie. At least, I believe that of the three, he’s the one that has matured the most. I enjoyed how his character has become more cocky.

I also want to add that Bryce Dallas Howard is just horrible in this one. Her red-haired vampire, Victoria, is just a waste. Even the hair looked suspicious. I believe Anna Kendrick was really underused in this one; she basically has about two scenes.

OVERALL

Overall, Eclipse is a great improvement over the two previous entries. It’s the best one of the franchise so far. Director David Slade manages to deliver a Twilight movie that seems more complete and focused. It’s less boring than the other ones, thanks to some doubled action and some pretty nice flashback sequences. Also, thanks has to be given to what seems to resemble an existent plot. All that said, Eclipse is still a bad film. It still includes some horrible dialogue, a stupid plot, and some lazy acting. I still believe fans should ask more from these films and their makers.

If you’re not into Twilight, I wouldn’t recommend you watching this. If you are, then you must see this. Twilight hardcore fans will not be dissapointed; this is the best one so far. As for the rest, you can skip this one without shame.

I give The Twilight Saga: Eclipse a 3 out of 10

Meryl Streep to Play Margaret Thatcher

Phyllida Lloyd, the director of Mama Mia!, is trying her hand with politics after fumbling with Scandinavian pop music. She’s putting together a movie called Iron Lady about (in)famous British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, with Meryl Streep in the lead.

Aint It Cool reports:

Looks like Meryl Streep and MAMMA MIA! director Phyllida Lloyd are putting together a movie about former Brisith Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The mighty Jim Broadbent is in talks to appear as Thatcher’s husband Denis.

I’m not going to pretend to know much about British politics, but I do know that Thatcher was a strict conservative and heavy metal band Iron Maiden (no relation to the film) thought she was scary enough to put on the cover of their demo tape, so this could be a challenge for Streep. I mean, look at that picture. Does that look like the face of a right-wing tyrant to you? Maybe.

This could go one way or the other. Jim Broadbent is always a boss.

Meryl Streep is, for my money, the second best film actress of all time after Ingrid Bergman. Seeing her play one of the most controversial and complex figures in modern international political history could be a treat. This film could also be interesting as an American in post-Sarah Palin America, sort of a taste-test of conservative celebrity women in political power.

But Lloyd directed Mama Mia!, so I’m keeping my head out of the clouds for now.

I’m going to keep an eye on this for Streep and Broadbent. What do you guys think?

Forgotten Friday: Little Monsters

Thanks for checking out our Forgotten Fridays feature. This is a feature to review some older films that maybe you have forgotten about or maybe never got around to seeing that we just want to share. They may not be old, maybe not forgotten, but they are not new. Just fun to share.

Today, we review Little Monsters

Genre: Comedy
Directed by: Richard Greenberg
Staring: Fred Savage, Howie Mandel, Daniel Stern, Margaret Whitton, Rick Ducommun
Released: August 25th 1989

THE GENERAL IDEA

A child meets the monster that lives under his bed. He even becomes one of his best friends. Soon the child discovers a whole new world of fun and games under his bed where pulling pranks on kids and other monsters is the main attraction.

THE GOOD

This was Howie Mandel in one of his funniest appearances. The guy is always spot on funny, but he is always best when he is improvising. Howie’s physical comedy combined with perfect comedic timing makes this all that much more fun.

Little Fred Savage once again plays the part of the everyday boy and allows you to live this frollicking silly adventure through his eyes. There is a lot of child’s wonderment and adventure in this movie and much of it looks like it was Mandel just playing off of Fred Savage. The pranks are hillariously delivered and it all works at getting the laughs.

THE BAD

The effects are dated and very distracting. While in the time they were forgivable, they take away from the movie a bit when occassionally a gag is painfully effected in.

And while all film is subjective you have to like Howie’s clean comedy stuff to enjoy this.

OVERALL

There is a nice balance of the silly and a message of responsibility and growing up that make for some serious moments too. But not so much to ruin the fun.

I’d be all for Howie doing a sequel to this, and perhaps befriending Fred Savage’s kid so he could be on the recieving end of the parents frustration.

Since all of these Forgotten Friday reviews are going to be what I would already give a high rating to, I had a Tv, Rent or Buy scale going on, but it would seem that an overwhelming majority of my picks get a BUY rating.
So with every Forgotten Friday you see from now on, you get to rate your anticipation for yourself!

TV – If you are at least a little curious, catch it if it comes on TV.
Rent – If it is something you have heard of and forgotten, or just remember enjoying this as much as I did once upon a time, go rent it.
Buy – But if you are like me, and you agree with my review you should go buy it. If its featured here, I already have.

Get Low Trailer Online

A new trailer is online for Robert Duvall’s odd drama piece Get Low.

While this guy looks like Gandalf the Gray, the film is a tongue in cheek drama about an estranged hermit of a man and the life he lived.

He wants to be there to see what people would say at his funeral, so he throws a funeral party so he can reminisce with everyone else.

This looks really good, and I am looking forward to this!

Dreamworks to Adapt Fall Guy to the Big Screen

The Fall Guy was one of the lesser knowns from the 80s action hits on TV, and it is the most recent 80s tv show to get the green light for adaptation.

Its still in its earliest stages and no director or actor is attached and no script has been written. Just that Dreamworks is starting to roll that ball to do it!

Collider reminds us about the show:

DreamWorks is hard at work on a reboot of the Lee Major stuntman series The Fall Guy.

The series was created by Glen A. Larson, the man behind such series as Magnum P.I., Knight Rider, and the original Battlestar Galactica. Majors starred as Hollywood stuntman/bounty hunter Colt Seavers, who did all the cool things you would expect a stuntman/bounty hunter to do.

Lee Majors was 42 when they made this show, and while I agree with Collider that they will go younger for the movie, I would hope they dont bottom out too young. They suggest Gerrard Butler for the role, which now that I picture it, I can’t see anyone else.

Who would you like to see in an adatpation of the Fall Guy?

Alison Brie and Mary McDonnell join Scream 4

It looks like casting for the already shooting Scream 4 is still going on. Alison Brie will be playing Sidney’s assistant, while Mary McDonnell will be playing a mom.

JoBlo says:

Yesterday, it was announced that Adam Brody, Marley Shelton, and Erik Knudsen would be the latest lining up to likely get killed in the third sequel to the meta horror franchise. And now, according to TheWrap, joining them will be Alison Brie (“Community”, “Mad Men”) and Mary McDonnell (“Battlestar Galactica”, INDEPENDENCE DAY).

Allison will be playing “Sidney Prescott’s ambitious personal assistant who secretly envies her boss’ reluctant fame and fortune.” while Mary McDonnell will be replacing Lauren Graham’s character. Graham pulled out of the production already filming citing creative differences.

I find it very interesting how more and more cast is being added and the film is already shooting - like they are making it up as they go along.

It is rumoured that they are only handing out pages to the actors to keep the killer’s identity a secret. Perhaps these last minute additions are much to the same goal.

Amanda Seyfried will be Cinderella

Aline Brosh McKenna knows the plight of the emotionally abused servant girl, having written The Devil Wears Prada. So she seemed like a natural fit for Disney’s live action adaptation of its own Cinderella story.

FilmoFilia reports:

We all know the story: “the wicked stepmother and stepsisters simply won’t have it, this uppity Cinderella thinking she’s going to a ball designed to find the handsome prince an appropriate sweetheart, but perseverance, animal buddies, and a well-timed entrance by a fairy godmother make sure things turn out all right.”

I just love Amanda Seyfried, and she was the only reason I watched Momma Mia.

I would watch anything with this beauty in it. Aside from her angelic looks, Seyfried is a great actress, and always brings something unique to her roles.

She is already slated to be in an adpatation of Red Riding Hood, and Cinderella would just be another iconic fairy tale character to add to this girl’s resume.

Disney also plans a live action update on Sleeping Beauty titled Malificent - which tells the story from the evil queen’s experience.

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark gets January 2011 Release

Guillermo del Toro wasted no time after calling it quits on the Hobbit to get his many fingers into metaphorical pots, and it looks like the first thing to come out with his name on it will be a remake of the 1973 cult classic Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Del Toro is writing and producing this film which has an ambitious release date of January 21st, 2011 - which newcomer and former comic book artist Troy Nixey will direct.

FilmoFilia says:

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark will center on a young girl, sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend, who discovers sinister creatures that live underneath the stairs.

In case you’re not so familiar with the cast, Guy Pearce will star as above mentioned father, together with his new girlfriend, Katie Holmes, while “young girl” will be played by Bailee Madison.

I suspect that while Hobbit was in limbo, and del Toro was doing nothing in his relcoated home in New Zealand, he must have been doing something.

Writing this might have been that something for it all to come together this quickly.

PeeWee Herman Returns with Judd Apatow

Looks like Paul Reubens’ long rumoured return to the PeeWee Herman character is finally becoming a reality, and he will join with Paul Apatow to direct his next feature film!

NY Times quotes Reubens:

Mr. Reubens has spoken frequently in interviews about two Pee-wee-centered film scripts he has written that would continue the adventures of his manic character seen in the movies “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” and “Big Top Pee-wee” as well as the CBS children’s series “Pee-wee’s Playhouse.”

But after Mr. Apatow read these scripts, Mr. Reubens said, “He was more interested in something closer, in the same vein and the same genre, as ‘Big Adventure.’”

What Mr. Apatow wanted, Mr. Reubens said, was “a reality-based world and a linear road movie.”

So that’s the path that Mr. Reubens and a co-writer, Paul Rust, are working along, for now.

“That appears to be what we’re doing,” Mr. Reubens said, “although it’s at such an early stage right now that there still exists the possibility that this could turn into the ‘Playhouse’ movie. I don’t think we know the answer to that yet.”

I really liked how PeeWee kicked off as just a guy who is socially out of his depth surrounded with his oddities and an unnatural affection for a bicycle, but beneath that exaggerated innocence and immaturity is a pure gentle heart.

I say keep him in the real world, and do the road trip thing.

Playhouse was just TOO juvenile and lacked that depth to the character that made PeeWee’s Big Adventure such a silly ride worth taking.

With Apatow involved, PeeWee isn’t likely to go stoner adult on us, but I suspect it won’t be so childish.

Abigail Spencer joins Cowboys and Aliens

No wild west cowboy movie is complete until you add a hot brothel girl. Even cowboy movies with Aliens in it.

Screen Junkies says:

Abigail Spencer has joined the cast of the upcoming Jon Favreau movie, Cowboys and Aliens. Co-starring Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford and Sam Rockwell, the film is still in its early stages, and will not be released until July of 2011.

Seductive and beautiful on Mad Men, Spencer will still be showing Megan Fox how to play a western prostitute.

I am very much looking forward to this movie, and they seem to be adding more and more cast as they go along.

DC Pierson and Cobie Smulders join Grassroots

Grassroots has two new faces to join its crowd. DC Pierson from Mystery Team and How I Met your Mother’s Cobie Smulders.

Film School Rejects shares:

The film is based on Phil Campbell’s book “Zioncheck for President,” a memoir of the 2001 Seattle City Council election. It follows Campbell (Jason Biggs), a recently fired reporter who signs on to run the campaign of his eccentric friend, former pedicab driver and fervent Monorail believer Grant Cogswell (Avatar’s Joel David Moore). Lauren Ambrose is set to play Emily, Phil’s girlfriend. Smulders will play Clair, a Monorail supporter skeptical of Cogswell’s campaign. Cedric the Entertainer will star as the incumbent Councilman running against Cogswell.

The basis sounds an awful lot like Canadian television’s Dan for Mayor where a less than bright but well meaning bartender decides to run for mayor with his best friend who runs the Swifty Copy as his campaign manager.

Apparently the story will revolve mostly around the real life contraversial Monorail plans for the city of Seattle which have been encouraged by the populace, voted for many times and then shut down repeatedly by bureaucratic red tape.

I didn’t care for DC Pierson in Mystery Team (that whole movie was moronic to me) and outside of that and some Derrick Comedy videos online I have little exposure to him. So its hard for me to form a solid opinion. I am indifferent to his existance.

But Cobie Smulders has the least sexy name on the planet, and is the hottest thing on the small screen. I just love her character on How I Met your Mother, and she just has an immense presence.

Scream 4 Has Been Rewritten

I was hoping this would not happen, but I can’t say I’m surprised. Scream 4’s script has been given a rewrite by Ehren Kruger. Supposedly, the new rewrite is radical enough that it resulted in the departure of Lauren Graham, and is making Hayden Panetierre less than pleased…

JoBlo reports:

The Weinstein Co. has brought in Ehren Kruger to rewrite the script as they’re filming and that original writer and producer Kevin Williamson (creator of the SCREAM franchise) has left the project entirely. It’s those changes to the script that led to the departures of Bell and Graham and now it seems like Hayden Panetierre might have one foot out the door as well.

It gets worse. Apparently Kruger’s changes are upsetting everyone’s favorite invincible cheerleader.

JoBlo reports, again:

Paneitierre signed on to the film based on the strength of her character but now she reportedly feels like the film has been dumbed down. While the “Heroes” actress isn’t leaving yet, she’s allegedly “beyond frustrated” with the film.

This news is already more frightening than the film is going to be.

Seriously, Wes Craven/Weinstein co.? Ehren Kruger? Let’s examine the pro’s and the con’s.

The pro’s: Kruger wrote The Ring, one of the best American horror films of the naughty aughties. That film was, however, a remake of a superior foreign film. Kruger also wrote The Brothers Grimm which, despite being one of Terry Gilliam’s weaker films, is still a fun, offbeat entertaining movie with more creativity in its first reel than most Hollywood films have in their entire running time.

The con’s: Kruger wrote Scream 3, which derailed a brilliant franchise in record speed so badly it’s taken a decade to get #4 into production. Kruger also wrote Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, maybe the most misguided, convoluted, confused, and outright offensive blockbuster films of all time. Transformers 2 may have been a financial success, but in my opinion it was a success in spite of itself, and Kruger’s script is possibly as much to blame as Michael Bay’s direction.

Also, Kevin Williamson has left the project, meaning that Scream 5 may never happen at all. Williamson’s work may seem a tad juvenile (he did write Dawson’s Creek, after all) and dated overall right now, but the man has an understanding of character driven plot that many more ’sophisticated’ writers would do well to learn from. I may be biased: The Faculty was the first ’scary’ movie i ever saw in theaters, and is still one of my comfort films.

Regardless, once again there’s turmoil on a Wes Craven set and now Willaimson’s left the project. Guys, I am no longer excited for Scream 4.

Shall we keep up hope, or mourn its passing preemptively? Let me know in the comments.

Sony picks Andrew Garfield to play Spider-Man

In a remarkable announcement today Sony has picked their Peter Parker.

Andrew Garfield will play Spider-Man in Marc Webb’s reboot of the franchise.

IndieWire breaks the news

Sony Pictures Entertainment has chosen its new Spider-Man. It’s Brit Andrew Garfield, perhaps the most mature of the crop of boyish actors the studio was reportedly considering. He’ll be 27 in August.

This is the LAST guy I would have wanted to see as Peter Parker.

Its either more clear than ever that the “highschool Spider-Man” angle has been tossed out the window and we will now see a full adult Spider-Man, or this casting director has no clue what a teenager looks like.

I can’t express just how disappointed I am with this news. They better show me some damned good and convincing footage of this guy as nerdy Parker, and witty banter Spider-Man for me to think of this guy in the role.

Director Marc Webb states ““Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor’s work understand his extraordinary talents,” states Webb. “He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.

And while I want to believe him, I just cant see this guy as Parker. The only thing I have seen him in is Dr Parnassus, and while I had no problem with him, he sure as hell can’t pass as a teenager, and he didn’t seem to exhibit anything I would say makes him an asset for this role. Maybe there is more to him, but I don’t see what it is.

I will say my anticipation is squashed until I see what these guys see.

Happy Canada Day to the International Friends!

As much as the International Friends who come here every day hail from all around the world, this site found its start in Canada. In fact we are still run out of the humble offices in Hamilton Ontario.

And today we resilient residents of the Great White North celebrate our Canada Day which is the anniversary of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act), which united two British colonies and a province of the British Empire into a single country called Canada on July 1, 1867.

So Happy Birthday Canada! I am proud to be a citizen of this great country!

And even more so, a country where this spoof is actually a heart swelling statement of our nation’s pride. I give you William Shatner and his proud I am Canadian Speech!

Star Fail Tee Shirt at RIP Tees!

RIP Tees has let me know about another fun Movie related T-Shirt that might be of interest to the International Friends.

Today’s contribution is Star Fail, by artist Roborock:

I love the cutesy Vader!

If you want to get this Tee, I have to warn you that RIP Tees has a unique system for sharing their T Shirt Designs. Each of these original shirts is only available for 24 hours then they are retired forever and at posting of this article, you only have about 9 hours left before this shirt is no longer available for sale!

Brody, Shelton and Knudsen join Scream 4

Three more potential victims have joined Scream 4 (I refuse to type it with a number in the word).

Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen have been added last minute while filming has already started.

Shock til you Drop tells us:

According to Heat Vision, Brody will play a cop, meanwhile, Shelton is going to play a deputy - a role that was previously geared for Lake Bell until she dropped out of the film last week.

Knudsen is said to play the “comedic relief” who’s aware of the horror conventions.

Sounds like they are trying to fit the roles that made the original popular, and they are going back to having a killer that copycats the traditional “rules” of Horror films.

As much as the sequels had the same themes to them, none were as effective as the first, so hopefully they will go back to fulfilling those charms.

I still think Sidney will be the killer. Just sayin.

Redband Operation Endgame Trailer and Poster Online

A new Poster and Red Band Trailer are released for Joe Anderson, Zach Galifanakis and Rob Corddry’s new action comedy Operation Endgame.

Live for Films has the plot:

Operation: Endgame centers around two rival teams of government assassins, who work out of a top-secret underground facility and use code names from the Tarot deck. When new hire “The Fool” (Joe Anderson) joins the group, he arrives for his first day only to discover that the boss has been murdered and the office has been locked down and turned into a ticking time bomb. He must survive his ambitious co-workers, find the killer, and discover a way out before the whole place explodes.

Directed by Fouad Mikati and written by Sam Levinson. It stars Joe Anderson, Rob Corddry, Ellen Barkin, Odette Yustman, Zach Galifianakis,Emilie de Ravin, Maggie Q, Adam Scott, Brandon T Jackson, Beth Grant, Bob Odenkirk, Michael Hitchcock, Ving Rhames, Jeffrey Tambor, Tim Bagley

This just looks like a lot of fun. Some deliberate eyecandy and a wild ensemble of goofy characters.

Looks like a silly fun thrillride to me.

Greene Cyrus Moore and Jane Join LOL

Demi Moore will play Miley Cyrus’ mom in an adaptation of the French film LOL (yes, derrived from the internet speak for laugh out loud) while Thomas Jane plays her dad, and the superhot Ashley Greene plays a rival highschooler.

Film School Rejects offers:

As for the film itself, it will be directed by Liza Azuelos, who helmed the 2008 original, and will center on a teenage girl (Cyrus) who is dumped by her more experienced boyfriend while her divorce mother (Moore) struggles to move on with her life. Greene will play a high school bad girl, a departure from her Twilight character, while Jane will play Cyrus’ father.

I find it interesting that this adaptation of the French film will be directed by the same director. Many times people are discouraged when a film is translated to an American audience, but the original’s director will be behind this, so who knows.

I could see Demi as a mother figure, and Miley is growing on me as an actress (she’s not bad), but I would really hate to be the guy trying to date the daughter of the Punisher.

No matter what role Thomas Jane plays, he just has an edge of intimidation behind those eyes that I just can’t see past.

I can’t wait to see Ashley Greene as a Mean Girl though.

Dinner for Schmucks - TV Spot

I’ve been really hesitant if i’ll be watching this movie in theaters or not. The casting is great, but I can’t tell if i’ll be laughing watching this film or just plain confused. Either way this TV Spot should help anyone in the same boat as myself. I also discovered when watching this TV Spot that Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords is in this film which I was completely unaware of.
Watch the clip and Enjoy!

Happy Canada Day!

Let Me In - Trailer

For those of you who are really into the current Vampire fad, or for those who aren’t interested in sparkling vampires do I have a trailer for you.

Let Me In, is a remake of the 2008 Swedish film “Let The Right One In.” It stars Kick-Ass’s Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee, With Matt Reeves Directing.

The trailer is very interesting, and the mood of the film seems just right.

John Moore to Direct Ice Road Truckers

John Moore, director of Behind Enemy Lines and Max Payne has been brought on to direct a 3D film adaptation of the History Channel show Ice Road Truckers.

Film School Rejects reports:

“It is very much a tough guy movie,” Moore said in the announcement via Deadline. “Here’s a bunch of characters who tackle problems by getting in there and getting things done. We’ll turn it into a mission movie that harkens back to Towering Inferno, Jaws, or The Guns of Navarone. You got a problem, go solve it.”

I could see them creating a suspenseful thriller out of the concept.

These guys drive 300 miles across an ice field. There is no land beneath them, and they are driving big rigs across it.

I can see some sort of plot that has the ice becoming dangerously thin, but they need to get some people out of one of the facilities, or someone needs medicine or some other reason to risk the treacherous Ice Roads.

Could be fun.

King Kong 360 3D Opens at Universal Studios

After the original King Kong Encounter attraction at Universal Studios was destroyed in a fire in 2008, there has been an absence of King Kong himself at the park until now. Peter Jackson’s 2005 King Kong has been adapted to the biggest 3d Attraction featuring his version of King Kong as an addition to the Backlot Studio tram tour at Universal Studios.

Check out the Celebrity Event of the first run of the feature:

The video they played to introduce the Kong portion of the Tram Tour with Peter Jackson Introducing the Launch:

And the Making of Featurette:

The Backlot Tram Tour has been adjusted many times in its history while new films used the sets for other productions. Like the Back to the Future Courthouse, which is more recently used in the Ghost Whisperer. This latest addition will replace the former King Kong Encounter (1986–2008) portion, and is open to the public today.

100 Greatest Insults in Film

Insults are some of the most fun part of movies. We quote lines from films, but none more than the insult lines.

Well the guy who brought us the “Let’s Get out of Here” (Most commonly uttered phrase in film history) montage, we now get the 100 Greatest Movie Insults!

I love the variety, from the crass to the cute. Also an alarming number of “your mom” lines.

“You are a sad strange little man, and you have my pity.”
“You son of a motherless goat!”
