According to Heat Vision cousins Mark and Brian Gunn are attached to write Paramount’s remake of 1980’s cult classic The Monster Squad.
Heat Vision reorients us to the original:
The 1987 original, which Fred Dekker directed from a script he co-wrote with Shane Black, concerns a group of kids who discover a plot by Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Gill Man and The Mummy to try and take over the world.
The remake will be produced and directed by Rob Cohen, who produced the original.
The duo’s last screenplay to be produced was 2004’s Bring It On Again.

Uggh, just what I needed to hear today, the guys writing the remake of my favorite film from childhood haven’t produced a movie since their terrible sequel to Bring it On. Just fantastic.
