It had been rumored before that veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones would come to take some kind of part in Captain America: The First Avenger. Apparently this rumor has become reality.
SuperHeroHype says:
As rumored, Tommy Lee Jones will act in Captain America: The First Avenger in a still-unknown role. Hayley Atwell, who plays Peggy Carter in the Joe Johnston-directed comic book adaptation, confirmed the news to LeicesterSquare TV.
Bets are being placed that predict Jones starring as General Chester Phillips, the military officer who chooses Steve Rogers for the super soldier program and who aided in his training soon after the serum took effect.
I’m excited about this casting news. Jones is a great veteran actor who will bring heart and some seriousness to the role. I can totally see him helping the film’s mood. Also, I can see him having some great funny one-liners and exchanges with Chris Evans (just like he did with Will Smith in the Men In Black franchise). The cast is shaping up to be pretty solid - can’t wait for this release.
Great Actor for a soon to be a great movie
with jones aboard, crank my interest up to 11.
I know, MARVEL has been great with the castings…
He will be for all time one of my all time favorite actors
This is more good stuff coming from Marvel!
I’m still weary about Chris Evans.
Time will tell.
Hey, sidenote, when do you think we will see a Thor trailer? Christmas?
