How to Train your Dragon Sequel in 2013

How to Train your Dragon is shaping up to beat Dreamworks last boxoffice draw (Monsters Vs Aliens) and is hands down my favourite Dreamworks movie. And now with that sucess the obvious sequel talk happened and they are moving forward with another Dragon film.

Dark Horizons says: offers:

Talking on a conference call to discuss quarterly earnings, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg sais that a TV series is in the works along with a movie sequel for release in the second half of 2013.

Now this is good news indeed. I just loved the crap out of this film, and really look forward to more of this stuff.

But what worries me is that the story felt complete to me. My only concern is that there doesn’t seem to be an obvious followup as they seem to have a “happily ever after” ending. Life goes on. But I am sure they can fabricate more adventures.

There are 8 books (7 Dragon themed) in Cressida Cowell’s Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III series, which the film is quite different from. In the books, Vikings capture and train dragons - not kill in some blood fued.

I hope its even half as good as the first film.

This has become my favorite Dreamworks Animation as well, I will buy this on Blu-Ray for sure.

I am kinda puzzled also about the Sequel. I thought the movie ending was just perfect and left no direction to go. But with the success of Dragons, I am sure they can figure something out.
