Ashley Greene joins Butter

Ashley Greene is the latest edition to the oddball comedy Butter, staring Jennifer Garner and Ty Burrell.

Collider shares:

Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga) has signed onto co-star in the satirical comedy Butter. The film centers on an Iowa woman (played by Jennifer Garner) who attempts to win a butter-carving title formerly held by her husband (Ty Burrell), only to be thwarted by a young black girl (Yara Shahidi). According to Risky Business, Green will play a rebellious high school teenager named Kaitlen Pickler.

I can think of a lot more prestigous titles to strive for than “Butter Carving Champion” but at least its unique.

The premise has a bwuh? factor built into it that just makes me want to see where they are going with this.

You know, with that much spare butter lying around, perhaps the Ashley Greene and Jennifer Garner will find themselves in bikinis….

I will just wait for a trailer.

Why does it have to be a young black girl? They dont say a white woman and her white husband.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with that saying a black girl, but what does her being black have to do with the plot?

you dont know that yet. Maybe her race DOES have a strong spot in the story.

Like Wesley Snipes in White Men Cant Jump

Or Robert Downey JR in Tropic Thunder

You have to keep in mind that this is a comedy, so the fact that she is black, may be a provider of 40% of the movie’s jokes.

I didn’t say I knew anything. I just asked a question. And I’m sure if I looked up the plot line to either of those movies it would have a reason for pointing out why the characters were black or acting like they were. For this plot description saying young black girl, just seems random.

        yeah youre right

but its a comedy, maybe shell have scenes in which shell be all ghetto for comedic relief

if it was a drama thriller and it said “a black chick” THEN ill be a little worried. but its a comedy, maybe they need that character to be all blacked out =P
