An adventurous fan has put together a fake poster for Captain America: The First Avenger, and its pretty damned good.

I like the gritty edge to it. I don’t want a candy coated World War 2 picture so I hope that this reflects how it will go.
I am half anticipating that they might use the traditional kite shield shape, but seeing the perfectly round frisbee shield on Tony Stark’s workbench implies to me he uses it in dubdubtwo and that at the end of the film they might recover it (and somehow makes its way to Stark’s collection - he is a patriot, and people would know of the legend of Captain America). When Tony joins Fury in approaching the freshly thawed legendary hero in Avengers, it would be a proud moment for Tony to hand him his shield.

Aaron Eckhare would be PERFECT for the role.
I like Jensen Ackles for the role, the dude looks perfect. To Me Aaron Eckhart is a little too old.

Aaron Eckhart or a bulked up Captain Awesome from Chuck would be my picks for Cap.
Agreed with Captain Awesome from Chuck, he definitely looks the part and has that heroic aura to him.
Looks like the gritty comics that circulated around 2003-2007 (that’s when I started reading them again) I dont know what there doing now in the books as far as look.

they already pulled a switch w/ Nick Fury, Cap would be pushin’ it too much.
no offense to Will BTW, I’m sure he’d make a good hero with someone else. Luke Cage, Black Panther,someone like that could be sweet!
It appears that they are following Millar’s ‘Ultimates’ storyline for the Avengers thing though. Pretty much like they did with the animated movies. As this was a different universe, they changed Fury to a black guy. Even to making Fury into Samuel L Jackson in the books. However, I totally agree that they can’t really get away with a black guy as Steve Rogers though. Will Smith would indeed make a good Black Panther though, but I think I’d prefer someone like Chiwetel Ejiofor.

When they made Fury black for the Ultimates line, the artist chose to use the likeness of Sam Jackson, which in turn inspired the casting of Jackson. They didn’t make the black Fury in the books look like Jackson after the fact. His first appearance he looked exactly like him (with an eye patch)
Idris Elba (am i right?) would be good as Black Panther too, (watch the critically acclaimed “The Wire” series for him), he is big, good looking, has this charismatic and charm aura in it. Befitting of a prince/superhero.
Cool poster, but i hope they make this almost like Captain America in that that authentic WW 2 something like Saving Private Ryan meets Captain America.
I always love how the fan posters are so much better than the studio ones.
The stdio is probably working on a poster covered in photo-shopped floating heads right now….
I love the poster overall, but “THE FIRST AVENGER” looks out of place. It almost seems like it should be place under Captain America instead of in the middle of it.
Actually weirdly enough when I was watching “Supernatural” Jensen Ackles struck me as the right type to play Captain America. Though he is a little to short lol.
He only looks short because his costar is huge, Ackles is over 6′
And I agree he would be perfect for it.
As I said above, I think Ackles would be perfect, he can do action, drama, comedy- he’s a fine actor and looks the part. Also it would be nice to see him in something outside the angsty Supernatural.
How bout Buckey? Wheres the love for Buckey?
Y’cant have a Capt. America origin story w/out the Buckman! Cap has always been the heart and soul of the Marvel Universe..this movie has to be HUGE!!!

wow. Interesting choice. It gave me pause for a moment, but that would be an interesting choice.
Up until recently he definately had a physique, may be a bit short, but I think he could have pulled it off, but his recent medical issues may hamper any close looks.
