1st footage from ‘Space Battleship Yamato’
Japanese anime was never my thing, however, some people are getting really pumped for this. The footage gets my interest up a little bit.
This is apparently based on the american anime version called “Star Blazers”. Again, I never watched it, never got into Anime, don’t kill the messenger!
This is released in December 2010 (in Japan)
I’m just so glad that its being made by a Japanese studio and not those Hollywood hacks.
Because those Hollywood Hacks might have actually put a budget towards it and make it like Avatar.
This looks like a more serious Power Rangers to me. But the space battle stuff looks good.
They wouldn’t have made it anywhere near as cool as “Avatar”. If anything they would have just made another “Dragonball Evolution”, because they have shown in their previous adaptations that they don’t give a shit about quality.
And, it looks NOTHING like Power Rangers.
I was hoping that Hollywood would get a hold of it and make it look like that last Street Fighter Chun Li movie.
So, you want them to make it look like shit? That wouldn’t be difficult considering their previous anime adaptations.
I was being sarcastic. I never wish that upon any franchise. We mourn you Doom, oh, what could have been, if only in the right hands.
Ha, that’s crazy. There’s a new anime Yamato movie coming out also that looks pretty cool, had no idea they were making a live action version as well.
Looks like it could be fun. However, the guy in this clip that seem like he could be a main character, I thought was a chick, until he started talking. And then he looks just ridiculous at the end, with his “I spent all day at the salon” hair do all messed up and in his face.
I’m blind when it comes to Anime.

For a second, I thought this was about Blizzard’s Star Craft… because their Terran Battle Ships had uber Yamato guns… man, I loved that game. Alas.

Yeah, I was just kidding. I was in a weird mood.
I actually am a fan of anime but didn’t grow up on it. I mainly became a fan in the last 10 years so I am not as familiar with the old school anime. But as for the anchor comment, yeah, I was just having fun.
I’ve never seen the series but it looks ok. The cgi seems meh but who knows. I wouldn’t mind seeing a live action Ninja Scroll movie, that would be friggin sweet.
No one in Hollywood has enough fake blood for a Ninja Scroll live action right now. Give it a few years and then maybe there will be enough.
I got a buddy who doe’s the music for Scroll.
