Sandra Bullock has always played fluffy fun roles, and rarely steps into the more dramatic. Its worked well for her, but after seeing this trailer for The Blind Side, I think I want to see more of her in dramatic roles.
Trailer Addict Calls it:
American teenager in Memphis, whose father was murdered and whose mother was a crack addict, is shuffled through the public school system, despite his low grade point average and absenteeism. But his tremendous size and quickness attracts the interest of a wealthy white couple who take him in and groom him both athletically and academically to become one of the top high school football prospects in the country.
This has “feel good” written all over it. I am in.
This really is a great story about Michael Oher, Ive watched him play football at Ole’ Miss for a couple years and glad to see him playing for the Baltimore Ravens, cant wait to see this movie.
He’s good, but he got OWNED by Dwight Freeney the other weekend. The again, who doesn’t? I can see a lot of pro bowls in his future.
true true but he’s still a rookie
I can barely watch the trailer without getting choked up. I don’t think I will see this one.
This movie is totally designed to manipulate your emotions, but that’s okay…it still looks good.
I know some posters here hate any talk of books that films adapt, but this movie is based on one of my five favorite books of all time. It is written by the guy who wrote Moneyball, Michael Lewis.
Excellent book. Not as excited about the film as I do not like Bullock. I was hoping they would cast Kristin Chenowith in the role when I heard they were making it into a movie.
Thank god there will be something nice coming up on November 20th, though this will not be a box office contender for New Moon, The Blind Side will sure bring a thoughtful experience.
