Rampage is NOT BA in the A-Team

While people were moaning about the impossible story that Megan Fox would be Catwoman, the very same rag that put out that story is now reporting that MMA fighter Quinton Rampage Jackson was signed on to play BA Baracus in The A-Team.

This is NOT TRUE.

Worst Previews shares:

One rumor that the paper spread is that UFC champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson” has been cast as BA Baracus in the upcoming “A-Team” movie. The man is a beast and is no stranger to wearing chains around his neck. He seems like a good fit, but since The Sun started the rumor, this information had to be double checked.

MTV News got in touch with Jackson’s manager, who revealed that there is no truth to the rumor..

I know a lot of people get confused over here because some legitmate news sources come from the Canadian chain of newspapers called the Sun (Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver etc) but the Sun from the UK is widely accepted as a Tabloid. Not a news source.

And these last few days they have been sending up flares that shine the light of reality on just how little they care if a story makes sense or not.

Not saying that Rampage COUDLN’T get cast as BA, but once again the “news” they offer is quickly challenged and proven inaccurate.

Personally, I hope they approach A-Team with some maturity instead of just hiring some fluff non-actors to fill the roles of these TV stars. Just because Mr.T was a character personality more than an actor doesn’t mean they have to recruit some popular non-actor name for his role. Rampage physically fits the role, but I would prefer an actor who fits the physical side too.

A-Team is a great premise, and as a feature film could kick a variety of ass. I just hope they treat it with some respect and the film won’t be unintentional comedy.

Hire an actor.

  1. JoJo says:

Frankly speaking you don’t need someone with great acting skills to do the role of BA. Mr. T himself aint that good of an actor. Sue me.

    Lol.

“flares that shine the light of reality on just how little they care if a story makes sense or not.”

Ah! Welcome to the world of ‘The Currant Bun’! Makes me proud to be British.

  4. Antonio says:

It looks like you’re typing “The A (minus) Team” which pretty much is my opinion of the movie if Mr T is not in it…

  5. TDot says:

Quintin is not an non actor, didnt you see him in Miss March? lol

Seriously though, he is a funny dude, if that could translate to feature film he would be awesome in the role.

  6. Chris says:

Toronto Sun is hardly legitimate news, ha!

  7. thematticus says:

I think he would be great. Mr.T wasn’t an actor. He was a personality. Rampage not only looks the part of a badass, he is legitimately a badass. Sign him up.

  8. Meli says:

Yeah, when I heard a squeak of this yesterday on the radio I looked up the source and sighed in relief because if it’s from The Sun you know it’s not true. I like Rampage as a MMA fighter, but I don’t want to see him in the A-Team movie.

  9. Anti-Septic says:

I’ll be the first to admit that Mr.T wasn’t the greatest thespian but he did have a certain way about him. He was tough, and he pulled off scary very well, but even when he was scary he was still very much likable! Very hard to do if you ask me.

This role will not be easy to fill, give Mr.T just a little credit.

it seems that they already picked a mr. t because im watching the conan eps with bradley cooper and he knows who it is but arent allowed to say. why dont they just come out with it already!

    • Darren J Seeley says:

Funny you mention Bradley Cooper. While he didn’t share a scene with Rampage, both did appear in The Midnight Meat Train. (Jackson had a small bit as one of the victims)

  11. Darren J Seeley says:

    In a way, it’s disappointing.

    In another way…GREAT NEWS.
Now hopefully Terry Crews might be again in the running.

  12. MichoPower says:

I just read on the UFC sight off of Yahoo sports that Rampage is indeed going to be in the movie as Baracus. They cancelled his fight at UFC 107 because of filming. Just go to Yahoo Sports and hit the UFC tab and look for the article.

    • Rodney says:

Except that the site yahoo is quoting is speculating instead of actually researching FACTS.

The site quotes that filming has already begun in Vancouver (which it has not) and that he will miss the DEC 12 card for filming.

They may yet pull the dumbass stunt of hiring an athlete instead of an ACTOR for the role (I can name 5 black muscular actors that would be a better fit than that ape) but it is not yet finalized and that site (as well as Yahoo) are just speculating it.

  13. Josh Brunsting says:

The Playlist is reporting that filming WILL shoot soon in Vancover, and that Rampage is cast as BA, and that Liam Neeson will be Hannibal, which I think all of us already knew…

  14. Josh Brunsting says:

Now /Film is reporting it. Looks like he IS BA, and personally, I’m beyond fine with it. He’s hilarious to listen to, and really, Mr. T was NOT a good actor at all. At all. Rampage will be FINE
