Jolie Could Be Back For “Wanted 2″

To all of those who haven’t seen the end of the first “Wanted” movie and don’t know how it ends… you may want to stop reading because we’re about to get into spoiler territory so stop reading if you don’t want to know more:

Angelina Jolie dies at the end of the first film, sacrificing herself to take out a bunch of assassins trying to kill James McAvoy’s character.
We’ve known for some time that a “Wanted 2″ was going to be coming our way… what we haven’t been sure about is if they would try to find a way to bring back Jolie’s character. Looks like they are indeed going to try just that. When asked about it recently, director Timur Bekmambetov said this (quoted from Latino Review):

“If you remember from the first film, we have a recovery room with the baths of wax,” Bekmambetov told MTV News. “We know how to do this, but it’s still tough to do, because the bullet is inside her head.”

“But there has to be a reason for her to come back… and we know the reason,” he added. “I think we found the reason for her to come back.”

The filmmaker said the story behind her return from the dead still trumps all other elements, but “we are trying hard.”

So what do you think? Does Jolie’s presence in “Wanted 2″ have any influence on your enthusiasm or lack thereof for the project?

  1. Michael Banno says:

No. I’m gonna reserve judgement of the film until I can actually see stuff on it. But it could be interesting. The worst that would happen is she’d have to live with the bullet in her head, but who knows what it’d be doing to her nervous system.

  2. EZELL says:

No get a hotter actress which should not be to hard have her half naked and problem solved.

    I will see this regardless.

    • thematticus says:

I agree. She is a usually hot, but she just looked old in wanted. All that parenting catching up. I think her days of being sexiest woman on the planet are over.

    • riggs says:

      fucking blasphemy.

    • SlashBeast says:

Yeah, I couldn’t believe it. She looked like 100 years old in Wanted.

    • SNOW37 says:

      There isn’t a hotter actress!

      • SlashBeast says:

        Yes there is.

      • SNOW37 says:

        nope.

      • thematticus says:

        Yes. Yes there is. Several.

      • SNOW37 says:

        not really.

      • SlashBeast says:

        Let’s just end this now.

        It’s reminding me of kindergarten.

      • EZELL says:

LOL wow she looks like John Voit dude but if your into him maybe she is hot. But yea their are about a thousand other actress that are hotter than her just most of them cannot act.

You want a example Megan Fox, Catharine Zeta Jones, Jessica Alba,Eva Longoria, Jessica Biel, all of Europes Actresses under the age of 30. yea the only thing she has going for her is her body and lips other than that I just John Voit.

      • bernardg says:

        @EZELL
Most of the actresses on your list aren’t worth mentioning in same league with her. Megan Fox, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria? Please…. scrap those.
Catherine Zeta sure is an A class actress, but rarely seen as a badass chick who can totting the gun (swinging the sabre doesn’t count). Jessica Biel? Well… she is worth mentioning. But the rest is just meh!

      • SNOW37 says:

        @Ezell
The key word here is ACTRESS. She is a beautiful angel and you should be raped for your heresy.

    • Ilka says:

Totally agree. She looked painfully thin in wanted. It was not sexy watching her naked. It was plain awful.

  3. HDpunk says:

sounds good to me, it wouldn’t be the same without her

  4. Lily says:

For once, Angelina Jolie seemed perfect for the role, and (bullet in the head aside), I’d see a second one purely if she was in it. But I’d still want decent action and a plot before I have a properly made choice.

  5. Jake says:

I’d love it if Jolie came back for 2. She was one of the best things about the first film.

  6. Darek-T says:

I don’t think Jolie would have to come back for the next one. In the first one she was just the mentor to Wesley and her only role was to get Wesley to join the assassin’s group and teach Wesley how to be an assassin. But after he learned what he needed to know he was kinda on his own and he took down the entire assassin organization and the only help he got from Jolie’s character was when she kills all the guys in the end.
So Wesley can obviously handle himself without help and if he does need some it could probably come from someone besides Jolie’s character and her coming back from the dead might be a little distracting in my opinion.

  7. Calviin says:

Including Jolie makes it more likely that I will see this. Same goes for my wife.

  8. riggs says:

they shouldve followed the damn comic book to a T

  9. Conibear Trapp says:

What I don’t understand about the folks who make these movies is there frightful lack of foresight. Surely they knew that there was a possibility of a sequel. Surely they knew Jolie was a huge draw. Why did they kill her off? Why not end it a little more neatly and at least leave the possibility open without having to draw out some impossible scenario to bring her back.

I loved the first movie and will see a second regardless.

    • Jeremy K. says:

From what I have read in the past, Jolie is the one that asked them to write in her death/sacrifice at the end. My guess is they weren’t expecting to do a sequel probably thinking it wouldn’t do as well as it did.

I would also see a sequel with or without Jolie. Though, I wouldn’t mind her back, as I thought she played the role perfectly and looked amazing in it. She may not be as beautiful as she once was, but she is still as elegant as ever.

  10. 46and2 says:

I could care less that they’re trying to force a comeback. Wanted was the ultimate suspension of disbelief movie. If I have to have one more argument with someone that thinks its theoretically possible to curve a bullet I’m going to clean out my skull with one.

Who cares, bring her back and don’t even patronize us with some shitty movie excuse like milk baths.

    • Jeremy K. says:

You think the movie was unbelievable (which, by the way, they were never attempting to do something believable in the first place with) then check out the graphic novel. It’s pretty awesome and even more unbelievable.

Question: Why would anybody go see a movie like Wanted expecting to see believable? The movie is all about unbelievable, just like Shoot Em’ Up and the coming soon Kick Ass.

      • 46and2 says:

Totally agree. Can’t stand it when people knock Crank or similar movies for lack of accuracy.

Thanks, I might just check out the GN. Walked past a comic store the other day and almost went in, but I’d kind of feel stupid saying “the only GN I’ve read is Watchmen… what should I read next?”

PS: How cool was the featurette on the Watchmen Director’s Cut about the physicist they brought in to consult on the film? And why didn’t they have his class - Everything I Know About Physics I Learned From Comic Books - at my college???

  11. JimmyBoots says:

could have her feel no pain like the bad guy in world is not enough.

    • David Lopan says:

Good call!! Haha, worst idea to use one of the coolest bad guys for that shitty movie.

      • LordThyBob says:

I love that movie, but then again I have an odd hearing impairment that makes me unable to hear Denise Richards’ voice.

    • bernardg says:

yeah… Denise Richards? Nuclear scientist? hahahaha… maybe she is, with the help of her two friends (if you know what i mean)
in other note Robert Carlyle (am i right?) sure is a badass in that movie. Sophie Marceau also scorching hot… Wait a minute! Why don’t Sophie Marceau get the cast of Catwoman (if there is one)? she is sure a better actress than..what is her name again?

  12. Mykrantz says:

I say just bring her back and don’t explain it.

  13. Anti-Septic says:

Dont need Jolie’s character in Wanted 2, let her rest in piece I say.

  14. meijiOrO says:

The best thing about her character is that she wasn’t a love interest for McAvoy. It’s so hard to find movies these days where two leads of opposite genders can just be friends yet have awesome chemistry.

  15. Thomas says:

They should replace Jolie with Megan Fox. That would make Jolie go batshit insane and she and Megan would have an epic catfight. And that would be awesome. //Thomas, Stockholm

    • Matt Keith says:

Replace someone who can act with someone who can’t act?

      • Thomas says:

Well, I think you’re missing my point here. I’m not to concerned about the Wanted franchise, but a catfight between Angelina and Megan would be epic stuff on youtube. Anyway, I dont think Wanted 2 will be a movie where acting skills will be very important.

  16. Dragonslayer says:

I fine with her returning…as long as it isn’t weird and she’s a skinny wench again.

  17. Alex Y. says:

the final destination is absolutely awful. i can’t believe i wanted to see this movie and spend my hard earned money.

i felt the need to tell fellow film fans about this - not only is the movie not scary, the 3D sucks and its getting bad reviews!

variety said “With an array of gory mayhem only marginally enhanced by 3-D and a plot as developed as a text message, “The Final Destination” may finally sound the death knell for New Line’s near-immortal horror franchise.”

please make sure you keep this in mind before you buy a 16 dollar 3D ticket.

  18. Matt says:

    I wouldn’t mind her returning.
If anything if the bullet was left in her head the studio could come up with something like its in a the part of her brain that messes with her sense of right and wrong. It might be nice to see her character get really dark instead of being a badass with morals. It might bring a true sense of corruption to the flick.

  19. SlashBeast says:

Wanted made zero sense so her character returning wouldn’t have to be logical.

  20. LordThyBob says:

When I saw Wanted in the theaters, in the last scene of McAvoy after taking out Freeman, I was expecting Jolie to pop of out of the Wax recovery stuff in the Tub behind him. She was the last one to be hit by the bullet, very possible to explain that it had slowed down enough to only knock her out, but not actually kill.

    • bernardg says:

nice explanantion, the problem is, isn’t the bullet went through her head instead of reside in her? That what i believe…. (note: Wanted is in the rerun of special movie on my tv cable)

  21. chancepassenger says:

how about a prequel with jolie and macavoys’ dad assassinating a bunch of people? that would be a good plot as well

  22. Ilka says:

It’s a shame. I would not like to see a “Wanted” sequel. I can say up front it is going to suck. Where are they going to go? Back? Forward? According to my husband the only point would be getting money out of our pockets. I agree.

  23. Gerardine says:

I thought she died at the end of the movie and so did everyone else. I wonder how there going to do this. Either way I’m sure the movie will be good because Jolie is staring in it again :)
